Thank you, but I did clear non vol after installing 8.1 software. Still the exact same issue.
I did clear it using the volume screen hidden function, holding the top right corner to access the Diagnostic page.
But I think that your way goes to the same page.

Np with my converted 3790 to 3490, how did you convert it?
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
I converted it in Mar 2012 using the procedure in this forum (see below), should I redo it with another procedure? I love my converted 3790 but the reboots are bad.
Conversion of my 3760T to 3490T (Using Win 7 x64)

Procedure is ok, we had some cases with nuvi 1350, solved with a software update from Garmin. you can read that thread:

No idea about your problem sorry. May be you can try to downgrade to an old 34xx sw version, clear NV and then upgrade again.
Reverting to an old sw can solve some problems sometimes.

If I revert to an old firmware, it works without any problem (But the routing is terrible) . It seems to work perfectly in "Indoor" mode with the GPS turned off, simulation mode.
This is really confusing.
Reverting to a very old firmware, for example 3.60,is just to clear completely nuvi NV, then you have to update again.
