Your device cannot load maps to internal memory.
look in your product page for compatible maps
Usually plotters support one bluechart per sd,because Garmin sells them one per sdCode:Please Login or Register to see the links
From BB's post
Please make a search before posting and post in dedicated thread instead of opening new ones.To see BC in Homeport copy the gmpsupp.img in a Garmin folder in pendrive or sd.
It's possible to view as many marine IMG files as you have room for on your memory card or USB stick.
HomePort detects maps from the path "[X]:\Garmin\*.img". The file name(s) might be something like "VPC410S.img" instead of the common "gmapsupp.img".
If there's also a "[X]:\Garmin\GarminDevice.xml" file there could be IMG files in paths like "[X]:\.System\*.img" and "[X]:\Map\*.img" depending on the GarminDevice.xml structure.
Thanks

To combine multiple maps BC in a single mapset you can do with the GmapTool
But you have to take into account two limitations:
1) files over 4GB (less than 2 bytes)
2) limit the total tiles (2025,normally...but for models chartplotter should be in 3000 ... but depending on the model and series)...but you can choose which you can see in supernumerary
Bye,bye
Roger thank you.
3 questions I have.
I have some understandig issues.
1) I cannot combine two BC with an individual size of 4.1GB but I can combine two BC with a seize of 3.9GB. Correct?
2) limit of total tiles? What is that? How can I check what is the max tile seize for my Chartplotter?
3) What means supernumerary?
Regards
Monette
1) yes....3,99GB is Ok (4GB -2B)...limit data of FAT32 (FAT>>2GB -1B)
2) tiles of map.....your look with GmapTool in details . For ex, CN NT 3013.30 is 477 tiles (segment of map>>>>little maps)...but various value for map..also of very
3) supernumerary : 2025 tiles max?? Your 2 maps----> 2050 tiles
Bye,bye
Quoting from Ballebar's post here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]Use BlueChart g2 since it will never work with merged BlueChart g2 Vision charts in any Garmin unit. BlueChart g2 Vision charts must always be used in single files without extra additional data from other BlueChart g2 Vision charts.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Just to continue the OT on this but in clarification, and again quoting the much loved, and presently much missed, BB in regard to common misconceptions regarding the size limit of image files that can be handled by the FAT32 file system, it is actually exceeded at 4GiB(-1byte) (GiB [Gibibyte], not GB [Gigabyte]). There is a very clear and learned dissertation by Ballebar in regard to maximum image size, maximum MapIDs and maximum map tiles in his Posts #9 and 11 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Some outdoor units can handle up to 4000 tiles, most units only 2025 tiles, but all units are limited by the under 4GiB image file size imposed by FAT32.
