Do you understand the difference between route and track use.

    What do you use?

    What map do you use?

Route on a non routable map, gives a straight line from routepoint to the next routepoint.
If you go to much left or right from this line you do not see it anymore on the screen, zoom out!

Because vectormaps, topografical maps are not always routable and access rights for your kind of transportation on a way are mostly not correct or does not excist.

Therefore many use mapsource and basecamp to make a track. Save it in the GPS and ride. Offroad.

Do you need a waterproof gps, for motorycle or only in a car?

Nuvi is more carbased street navigation.
Zumo is a more motorcycle based navigation. For street, tracks are not that easy in outdoor. Search the web for zum outdoor, and read.
Then there are the more outdoor handheldnavigations.
How much do you want to spend?
    On gps and maps.
    Most outdoor are waterproof.

    Garmin, Oregon montana.

Batterie life is important. If there is no, board electric: Some times they make a connection with the mini usb, but offroad, bumping usb did not like that.
Most times there is no sound (speak) but bieps.

    or

But cheap waterproof a lot off other programs to install.
