Dedicated. Has screen mount with power feed and leaves my phone free for texting while I drive
Dedicated or cell phone, it's essentially the same software base. The location tracking of GPSa is adequate in most cities. One of my cars has built in GPS so I tend to use that one when I need to travel out of my city.
In my car I use a dedicated Garmin Nuvi device for walking I use google maps in my smartphone

I've been using TOMTOM on Android and I'm more than happy with it. The only think that is not that great are the POI's. But I grab the coordinates from google maps and them use them on TOMTOM.
I like particularly the scheme of the exists of the highways. That's very helpful.
every day , I alway use two GPS's
1-Google Map to check traffic .
2-Then switch to Sygic by Sent to Sygic
I use my old tomtom 920 pnd for long journeys in my own car but for short journeys or when using another car I use tomtom installed on my Samsung galaxy phone
Have Sygic on the mobile and have a new toy in the car (double DIN all in one head unit) so going to explore in-car GPS options with the help of this forum
