    I do not know if this is the right thread, but I also wanted to connect a rear camera.
    But can not find the correct interface.
    From the aliexpres I found alwais a warnings , that only RGB yellow connector can work. But mine is black.

    So what is the problem, and how to overcome it ?
    I would highly appreciate some advise or redirection to correct discussion.

    Thank you, Aconik. That's a shame. Is there any firmware out there that can be installed that you know of?

    @anism
    I've never seen an RNS-315 with a 26-pin yellow connector before.
    I retrofitted an original rear view camera years ago. Works great.

    @dsgeko
    There is no newer and publicly available firmware for your device.

    Thank you Mr. Pinselman for your advise.
    Could you give me a hint , based on your experience - what tipe of camera I have to connect - NTSC or PAL ?
    There are this two types on the aftermarket and I will risk with one of them.

    Hello all,

    I have been reading this forum attempting to figure out if there is a software update for my system. I checked the chart on post #12 but it appears my model is not listed as I have a version B (see below). I was wondering if anyone knew if either of the two ISO's from post #12 will work on my RNS 315
    Details are as follows
    Part # 1K0035274B
    Software vs 0265
    Hardware vs H35
    Nav Data Part# 3AA919866B
    Nav Data vs 0002

    Also I found on the VW literature website a RNS315 Update Cd for 25 dollars. The part number of that CD is RNS315SW0417. But there are no details as to what this CD actually does and for which versions of the RNS315 it works on. Does anyone know if THAT CD would work for my unit? Also if it does work and I need to make a purchase I would be willing to share an ISO for those who have the same B model as I do. For testing purposes of course.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    @ansim
    I would prefer an original camera (OEM), as long as the car was equipped with one. The advantage is that no extra interface is needed. Google for "low camera" and your car.

    @lovemycc
    You can't update from version 02xx to 03xx, 04xx or 05xx. The public update 0270 is only for EU radios. Your part number isn't listed in the update index (update.idx).

    Thank you!

    Hello,
    I also have a RNS315 with this specs:
    Part number: 3C0035279
    Software version: 0010
    System hardware version: H05

    I have already written 2 cds with "VW_EU_1508-0270_RNS_315_MJ2011.iso" and i have "Error: CD" to both of them. So I do not think the problem it's the blank or the write speed.
    It may be a problem that my Part Number is 3C0035279 (no letter at the end), and in update.idx there are only 3C0035279A, 3C0035279B, ..., 3C0035279K?
    Is there another software update or is it ok to add a new line in update.idx with 3C0035279 and try writing a new cd?

    @aconik Are you sure there is no software update for this RNS315 version ? Anyone else knows something else about this?
    Thanks.
