Default RNS 315 Rebooting constantly after V10 map update

    Hi,

I recently updated my RNS 315 with V10 maps and all seemed to go well apart from an issue where the unit now reboots itself every few minutes. The map upgrade gave the 'remove SD' and it is running V10 under settings and the navigation works great other than this issue where the RNS black screens and restarts randomly. (every 5 - 10 minutes)

Anyone any ideas on this one?

    Thanks.

Maybe there was some kind of a file corruption during the installation. Possible solution is to install v8 East and than reinstall v10 again.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure if it was possible to downgrade the maps but if so I'll give it a go. It was running V9 West prior to this without any issues and I still have the file. Will this work?

I have my SD card reformatted ready with my Nokia so will try as soon as I can get a chance.

    Thanks.

AFAIK any "virgin" card will offer you installation if it differs the version currently installed, so you can also try again with v9 West or v8 East and than again with v10 West. If I'm wrong somebody please correct me..

Ive got the same problem but as I saw your post I ran from the SD card, I've decided that the V10 is corrupt or hacked V9 in some way. I can re-format the card and start again, I assume if I'd flashed the unit I'd be able to reflash with a properly made V9 mapset. It's certainly true that removing the SD card stops the reboots.

I decided to reinstall V9 West and this went without any issues. Used the car for a couple of days and no reboots whatsoever. I re downloaded V10 just to rule out any corrupt files and reinstalled. I removed the SD card after it was finished. (I need to as I use the slot for music) Within a 10 minute drive the unit rebooted about 7-8 times so either my 315 is not capable of running V10 or there is an issue with this version. Could it be the firmware on the unit? I noticed someone posted a link to a RNS 315 firmware in another thread on here and I'm happy to try it out to see if it makes any difference. ('VW-EU-1508-0270') Unfortunately i'm not that sure how to install it. I tried burning the image to a blank CD with Nero and Imageburn but got a error message in the car with both discs.
Oh well - back to version 9 for me for now. Just a pain it takes so long to prepare and install. Thankfully my old Nokia is up to the job of unlocking the card each time. Any advice would be appreciated as I would really like to get V10 working.

    Thanks.

FW update can be made by CD, but U need to have version which is connected with your navigation part number.

Each firmware has an .idx file in which hw codes of compatible units are written...
    One example :
; Software fuer RNS315 Variante EU
    ; Konfigurationen: euw_dbt euw euw_d euo_d eutrk_d euw_kw4511 euw_d_kw4511 euw_dbt_kw4511 euo_d_kw4511 eutrk_d_kw4511

Ugh, this is happening to me too on my Seat Leon. Just bought the V10 maps and every 3 minutes the whole system restarts. Have I just bought some kind of moody V9 maps with the number changed or something?

The good news is the unit should be fine if you revert back to V9 West. PITA though as it takes so long. (I have installed this copy of V10 3 times now and the same each time - reboot after reboot) I'm waiting for another release and I'll try again but sticking with V9 for now. Has anyone else got this working okay?
