I have a problem. When I try to lock the SD card with the password generated from the CID I'm getting this error.

    ioctl: Connection timed out
Could not read response to SEND_STATUS from /dev/mmcblk0

If I remove the card and put it back in to the reader its not seeing it anymore so it seems that the card is now locked. And when I insert it to the RNS315 it says "SD card error". Does anybody have this same problem?

My card is a Sandisk 32Gb.

I'll try again tonight when I get home.

Disk tool in Ubuntu is seeing the SD card but saying that the model is Ncard and Volumes "32Gb Unknown"

Update: Inserted the SD card to the RNS315 and it gives an error "Error: SD card".

I followed the instructions from the first post of this thread how to lock the card and I used the password generated from my card's CID. I'm not getting the correct response from the locking command. Anybody know what is the problem?

you need a samsung evo+ micro sd card, if you can get hold of an older evo or evo+ micro sd card then it could work, i successfully used an evo micro sd card that was in my phone, probably 1 year old.
    new cards don't work anymore....

Hi girls and guys. I'm fresh on this forum, as you can see from my account, but I've been following you for a long time. Please help me.

I need a password for my Samsung Evo Plus MB-MC32DA / EU card, RNS 315
    CID 1B534D303030303010A5B95574010A01.

    Thanks in advance

I stated before that my SD card was Sandisk. I was mistaken. It is actually made by Silicon-Power (micro SD HC 32gb). It will not lock with the lock_sd command. So no luck using that card for updating. I tested the lock command with unbranded 64gb card and it worked as it should.
