You dont need to delete nothing .. read again what you need for burning because repeating again and again same thing become disturbing

    Hi Black1982,

Do you think that we could make a custom loading.kwi file using very old file (no PTP/OTP check there) with some new modules (from latest loading.kwi with PTP/OTP check) in order to unlock entering destination while driving ?

I've successfuly extracted both old loading.kwi and new one (using kiwi python extract script), but I wonder which module I should merge together...

Or maybe that hybrid loading.kwi already exists...

    Kindly let me know.

After realizing that the 4 big shops around me didn't have dual layer dvds on sale and I'd have to wait 3 days and pay for delivery for a dual layer to get to me I figured I'd mess around with maps a little bit and possibly make Black's version in post #23 small enough to fit on a normal DVD and I did.

Using Kiwi File Explorer that can be [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I opened Black's ISO and then used the Map Converter to choose the countries I wanted to have which generated ALLDATA.KWI 05.CMP and REGION.KWI
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I then unpacked Black's ISO, replaced the files in it with the ones I just made, deleted VOICEDAT.KWI because I didn't care for it and created a new .iso which I then burned to a 4.7 MCC 004 Verbatim DVD. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I'm not sure how important this is and if it matters but when I made my ISO I used the file systems ISO9660 + Joilet + UDF and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Now personally I use google maps and waze and only updated this because seeing my screen go bright white because I didn't have any maps during the night was really annoying. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I̶n̶p̶u̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶A̶d̶d̶r̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶,̶ ̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶f̶i̶n̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶P̶O̶I̶ but it lists the street I'm on and where I'm going and that's all I need.

If you have any questions on how to do it yourself, I'll be checking this thread this week.

UPDATE: It appears in the ISO I made I didn't burn any of the folders, all of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]which I'm going to be doing for my version 2 which will include more countries and I'll be using this very useful post from tomazzo [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to pick out the proper POIs for the countries I chose.

UPDATE2: Currently burning an ISO with Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia AND the IDX's and POI. Seems to be 3.5gb so there's room for at least 2/3 small countries or Italy.

UPDATE3: I did what I said in UPDATE2, it worked, POIs appear but actual navigation to an Address seems to be busted. The button doesn't work and pressing navigate to POI gives a navigation error. I'm all ears if anyone's got a solution for this.

    Hi iaxx,

    Like your explanations and process

It appears from what I've understand that you've created a completely new ISO file from scratch since you've unpacked Black's ISO, and it seems to works as well.
Usually I just 'live-edit' a copy of the original ISO with Poweriso and save it.

On my side I've tested Another recent Black's ISO: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (1st post)
    I did 2 versions.
The 1st version I removed 2 IDX files for 2 countries, see post #24 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
The 2nd version I used KFE 2.3 to add Switzerland buildings (and I fighted to obtain and convert files to .mp (polish) format from the .osm.pbf (consumed lots of RAM, probably swap as well, and time...)
Those switzerland buildings are now working properly (however they are black...)

I also had to compress the ALLDATA.KWI and REGION.KWI from output of KFE using a new program from the same guy which operates on file 05.CMP: Kiwi compressor, check here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Now on that 2nd version I did not removed any IDX file (so the files I deleted for version 1 are now back but as you, I cannot enter any address on that version 2

I need to check if it was the case on version 1 as well...

    Hi iaxx!

First of all, thanks for your work!

I have a fully working ISO, called "Toyota, Lexus Navigation E1F Ver. 1 2017-2018 East Europe". A bit old... but everything is worked fine, like POIs, telephones, icons, searching... everything.
I have an idea : it is possible to use several maps from Black's E1G iso, mixed with the older (but working) E1F files (loading.kwi, IDX files) ?

Another thing : can i ask about the IDX files ? I wondering what these file might be :
    ARCSRxxx - mesh search
    FWYDTxxx - freeway data
    FWYSRxxx - freeway ...
    ITSDTxxx - itiner data
    ITSSRxxx - itiner ...
    POIDTxxx - poi data
    POISRxxx - poi ...
    SADSRxxx - street adress
    TELSRxxx - telephone

xxx - country number (see Tomazzo's post).

    I am right?
    Thanks!

So I checked today and the 1st version works better. It does not have the new buildings, but at least the destination calculation is working fine, I mean there not anymore the message telling it cannot find the path for itinary...
So I suspect KFE is somehow breaking this feature...

@panka, I'm also wondering if we could mix some maps from older / newer discs...
But you need to ensure correct compression of the files (you can check this with KFE and compress with Kiwi compressor, url above)

I'm even wondering if we could pick some idx (like SADRxxx) from newer disc from other car brands...

    Hi hegyre!

How did you do your working (1st version) dvd? Please write it down to me step by step!
    I would do:
    1. mount Black's ISO
    2. copy every files from ISO to a drawer
    3. remove some files
    4. the size of the drawer is now under 4.7GB (single layer dvd+r)
    5. build a new ISO with ImgBurn (iso 9660 + joilet + udf), with the same name as Black's dvd
    6. burn that ISO to a single layer dvd
    7. in the car (Prius) disconnect the navigation system for a few minutes
    8. reconnect the plug, insert new disk. (i have a Prius (2006) too).

I watched the KFE archive, and i found a "checksum" application. Do you know what this is for?

    Thanks for your answers!
    Cheers,
    Panka

    Hi there,

The Checksum application is for playing with loading.kwi (my next step, but only in a while...), when you add / remove / edit / translate modules (you know the Russian guys have fully translated the menu to Russian language, and they provide the tool to do it.

About Black's ISO, I believe we are not talking about the same iso...
I used E1G Central ISO from Black1982 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    So here^s what I did:
    1. open 86271-V312N2_C.ISO file (not the .MDS) with PowerISO (I use version 6.5 but another version should be fine as well)
    2. If you don't have a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] compatible DVD Writer like me, but still a DVD Writer compatible* for DVD-ROM booktype, then remove IDX files (I just removed SADSR017.IDX (Netherlands Adresses) and SADSR021.IDX (UK Adresses))
You can skip this step if you can Overburn a DVD with BurnerMax Payload
    3. Save ISO (CTRL+S, overwrite same file)
    4. Burn with ImgBurn 2.5.8.0, with these settings:
    Spoiler: screenshot
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    5. Insert disc in the car
    6. If not working in the car (Prius II 2004, Gen.3 GPS) disconnect the navigation system for a few minutes
    7. Reconnect the plug (disc was inserted before, at step 6)

    Hi hegyre!

Thanks for your help! I did the same and it works.
But actually i better need east european maps, but the E1G East iso (Balck's) doesn't works.
    I have a plan.
I want to mix it up two ISOs: East maps and POIs with Central disk files. What do you think? This could work?
    1. copy all (206, 214, 308, 312, 443, 453, BMP, IDX) drawers, 05.CMP, ALLDATA.KWI, REGION.KWI files from East disk, the rest of the files from the Central disk to a new drawer.
    2. I made a new iso with these files (ISO9660+Joilet+UDF)
    3. edit this ISO with KFE Map Converter, just keeping a few maps (like iaxx), rebuild alldata.kwi, region.kwi and 05.cmp
    4. compress alldata.kwi and region.kwi, overwriting the old files with these files.
    5. make a new iso, and burn to a 4.7GB disk.

    i'm thinking something, like that.

I don't understand why you want to create a new ISO from scratch.

The key thing is the loading.kwi file.
05.cmp is closely tied to all .idx files, including ALLDATA.KWI and REGION.KWI.

In the 05.cmp, it's where is defined the compression version of all the IDX files in the disc.
Also, I bet (90% sure) older loading.kwi cannot read newer compressed files.

As I said, you'd better avoid using KFE at first and only removing needed files manually if you wanna have them on a 4.7GB disk.
You could use Kiwi compressor to (re)compress the files in order to add more files to that disc.

On my side, I'm currently seeking for a tool which can read each part of the loading.kwi file (not only a tool that can separate modules, but also sub-modules)
