Hi I've down loaded map but only had a DVD+R DL to burn to, map loads and works but you can't enter any destinations only the previous ones that were on system can be used.
Will burning image to a DVD-R DL fix this problem ? cheers Dale

No I haven't, when the ignition is off you can't eject the dvd so I assume it powers down each time, I neglected to say my model is subaru tribeca 2009 model with the Kenwood 1200 navigation system does this make any difference.
I can disconnect battery and try though.

Disconnecting the battery for more than a few minutes clears the nav unit's volatile memory where the firmware is stored. This seems silly until you realize that there's no other way to remove corrupt firmware easily. By wiping the volatile memory, on next power-up the firmware will be reloaded from a map disk which has full LOADING.KWI. That's on all OEM disks but some map update disks only have software updates or bug fixes. So if you do completely power the unit down you'll need to reload full firmware. I had thought all Tribeca models used Denso C1 navi units but if it loads the map then it certainly is the right map data but be aware the LOADING.KWI on this disk is for Denso devices. Maybe it's Kenwood branded but is a Denso used under license? All other 2009> Subaru use Denso C2 same as MMC etc.

Your problem with destination entry sounds like a minor burn error rather than a firmware issue, I would re-burn to another disk at lowest possible burn speed using ImgBurn or PowerISO.

Why does every link to this Download not appear no matter how many hoops and ski jumps you have to encounter?

Maybe because you were a 'zero poster' before ... can you see them now?
