Recover device and remove red cross

TomTom device locked on boot, blade flashing red X



If your navigation device is locked after you switch it on
Or the TomTom application is not installed or can not be found .
Or the device only shows the boot image or a cross that will not stop blinking.

To resolve this issue , reinstall the application. Follow the steps below .

1. Reboot the device.

2. Connect your device to your computer.
Then turn on the device by pressing the power button for 5 seconds.
TomTom HOME starts .
In HOME , click Manage my device navigation .

Select the Themes tab of the device and check the box applications. Then click Remove items from device .

Click OK .

Select the Themes tab Computer and tick Applications .
Then click Delete equipment items .
Click OK .

3. Reinstall the application by clicking Update my device .

Click Update my device.

Ensure that the new application is selected , click Update and install.

Click Device > Disconnect Device .
Your device starts and then connects to the computer again.
Note: On some devices you may need to repeat these steps .

4. Run the TomTom Clear Flash tool
Note: This tool can not be used with TomTom ECLIPSE , Daihatsu and Toyota 's you can download . :

5. Safely disconnect the device.
