You can prevent Home from updating by changing the version number.
And for TT devices a ttgo.bak and ttgo.ori with the values of the latest official Navcore will fool Home into thinking you installed the right stuff
Finally!I did think to try an older TT Home and just thought nah they will try and force a TT home update. My prayers are answered.

Hi I used the second method and it worked fine on my TT GO 910 but you now have to change the version Number to: 2.9.2.2837 hope this helps someone
Cheers
It's not possible to get the map upgrades with old TTHome. It's also not possible to modify new navcore.
Instead, the usage of two SD cards can help to get usefull upgrades without unnesessary update of the navcore.
To this end, one need to use TWO SD cards:
a) the fake SD card to which all updates can be collected and, then, transferred to the computer, and
b) the actual SD card, to which the new elements (except for the unwanted ones) can be restored from the computer.
I don't understand why I should make thigs so complicated....
Map share is not really needed with new maps every three months.
Home can stay frozen at the 2.6 version for the normal use with Quickfix or to simulated the device, since everything one could need is available in the forum there is no actual need for Home anymore

Neither the first, not the second ways work in Carminat Live navigator (9.844-9.845). The installation of an old "good known" TT Home does not work either since it cannot provide map share updates. The only way is to allow TT Home to copy new navcore into SD card and, then, to delete is manually (ttsystem file).
You did not mention that you have a Carminat
This plugin only works from higher Home version on.
With the CL you can not simply add updates like on other devices, your only way is with the SD and by doing it the hard way.
Even if someone would finally ***** the way these updates are downloaded and installed it would not help for your device.

Great tip! Thank you. I always had this issue. I just tried Step 2 and it worked well. Thanks.
Works fine for me. BUT you have to use the newest version...
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465
ApplicationVersion=1074274.1
Your version numbers are only good for a few devices.
The lines you have to use always reflect the latest official Navcore version for a particular device.
