Don't have the update from the first post, but one for Sirf and one for Global Locate chipsets.
Simply unpack into the ephem folder and start the corresponding EXE, WGET is needed, so make sure your system has Java installed (should be standard anyway).

From my collection QuickGPSFix v4.51 (June 2019)

This tool collect the QuickGPSFix data for the Global Locate and
SiRFStarIII chipset in the same run, now you need never think what
    chipset the device has.
(for more info see the 'ReadMeFirst' file in the RAR archive)

    Question

    Hi

I have an One XL (4S00.000) and followed the instructions contained in the above rar. Deleted everything out of the \ephem folder, copied the 2 exe files across and ran the QuickGPSFix-GM.exe file. Updated ok but reported back that I have the SirfStar GPS chipset.

However, I was under the assumption that my model - see [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - has the GlobalLocate chipset.

On start-up, my unit (currently running NC 9.510 SE, bootloader 5.524, GPS v1.20) takes an age to get a GPS fix. Is this possibly the reason?

Is these any way I can definitely confirm which GPS chipset my device has?

    Many thanks

You have a Global Locate "Hammerhead" chipset, the XL IQ uses the Global Locate BCM4750.
Give FastActivate a try, it can update the quick fix data as well.
Or use an oldie from my collection:

Thanks! Deleted all files out of the \ephem folder, copied across the files to that folder on the SD card and ran the GlobalLocate-QuickGPSFix.exe file. I now have a 'lto.dat' in the \ephem folder, rather than 'packedephemeris.ee' file I had previously. It looked like the exe calls the TomTom server to update the satellite details (am I right in thinking that?).

This prompts me to ask whether it would be worth also running the 'QuickGPSFix-GM.exe' from the QuickGPXFixv3.10 rar file above? Would this just mis-read/mis-report my GPS chipset as it did before? I assume it draws gps info from a different data set so would it add anything?

    Cheers - again!

There are only current data files for Sirf and Global Locate, it does not matter which way you get the files.
So nothing to gain once you have a current update.
Next week you can a different tool and so on, just keep what works best for you.
