    Default maps tomtom one

    Hi,

    I own a old Tomtom One N14644. I use it when going on holidays, because google maps costst lots of data.

    We are going to Boston, USA and I'd like to load the US Northeast map on the device, however I dont get it working.
    I've done it before; loading the Iberia maps onto the device and it worked fine. This time no luck. But maybe this device is now so old it does not work anymore?

    I've got the US_Northeast_990_8305 maps and i've got the metadata. Loaded onto the device and patched with Fastactivate.
    However the map does not appear on the system.

    Am I doing somehting wrong with the navcore?

    Device details:
    ttgo.bif:
    DeviceName=TomTom ONE
    DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v8)
    DeviceSerialNumber=PNxxxxxxxxxx
    BootLoaderVersion=55136
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8083
    ApplicationVersion=9669
    CurrentMap=
    CurrentMapVersion=0.0

    Map(s):
    F:\US_Northeast_990_8305\

    Storage:
    Size 978MB, Free 493MB

    Would be great if someone could help me out. Tomtom Home is giving me no updates whatsoever.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sounds like you've done everything right:-
    That map does indeed have a meta
    Are you using the latest FastActivate?
    Is there a new ....meta.dct file in this new map folder cos if not then F/A didn't activate it
    Is the map AND navcore together in internal memory or together on an SD card?
    You say "it doesn't appear on the system" Is that when you go to Manage Maps/Switch Maps?

    AH, just checked and that 8305 map is NOT compatible with that older 8083 navcore. Have a look around here for further advice/suggestions:- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Unfortunately you're not going to get a full answer on this forum any longer due to legal reasons so I suggest you go over to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and see which of the latest v990 maps are suitable for that 7.903 navcore (subject to us having the meta code for the map(s) you want or trying a newer navcore which you could then use any meta'd map on, see [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    You may talk about the maps and software required but not upload them here that's all.
    so if you need map xxxx you may say you need xxxx and navcore yyyy that's fine then members can search Web and get them then come back and ask how to install.

    So long as this Site does not supply the Software.

    @ gpspiepiax
    Give this a try:

    Shop somewhere Europe_Central_990_8365.
    Extract archieve and delete Poi.dat from mapfolder.
    Now the map takes for about 828Mb and wil fit on your device.

    Make full backup of your current configuration with windows explorer.
    Delete old mapfolder from device.
    Copy new mapfolder to device.
    Aktivate map with latest FastAktivate.
    Don't forget to patch navcore if it isnt yet (option 3 FA)

    Enjoy
