    help TomTom Go520 Bluetooth Problem

    Hi all,
I have a TT Go520 that everything works fine, except Bluetooth....

I have tried various navcores yet to no avail.

It will let you enable Bluetooth but when you try to search for phones it flashes for less than a second 'searching for phones please wait'
then comes up with 'no phones found. please make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone'

If you go to 'connect to a device' in Bluetooth menu it hangs on searching for a device for ages with the green circle that spins frozen,
eventually it just says no Bluetooth devices found.

Also in the Bluetooth menu 'disable bluetooth' is greyed out...

Any ideas anyone, or is this maybe a hardware problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I just reset factory settings from the menus as I didn't think I'd tried that, and now if you go into 'Bluetooth preferences'
ALL of the icons are greyed out!!! Arrggghh it's got worse!!

Thanks Quin1965, I have tried a few of the things you suggested, but changing the navcore doesn't seem to make any difference, even your DSA ones..
I read somewhere once about someone changing a battery and breaking the resistor to the top right, I have checked and this seems fine, but this is probably a hardware issue Methinks..
    Thanks anyway....
If anyone out there can point me in the right direction of which is the Bluetooth chip or a schematric of the go520 (I kinda doubt that) I would be very grateful.

After much research and trouble, I came across a TomTom schematic diagram. It turns out that U30 is the Bluetooth chip and (see photo) mine is physically damaged, probably by someone careless with a screwdriver when changing the battery! I confirmed this on another I have which does work and U30 doesn't have the corner of the chip missing.

So at least that answers one question U30 is the Bluetooth controller Ic

Thanks again for the suggestions Quin.
