Unfortunately downunder35m seems to have dropped off the scene now but his write-up in his "universal" post is reasonalbly clear.
As long as you have a full backup of your device you can't really brick it so give it a try (after re-reading all the stuff including others comments/feedback/tips etc in those threads)
