TomTom and Uber Deepen Ties to Develop Superior Mapping Experiences

Thank you Boki_Srb for your hard work and effort.
After updating my samsung s20 to android 11 the previous version of tomtom go (witch i used for years) did not work anymore. After lots of google i fond this site and the original posters of the tomtom software.
Tried NDS and after installing (without an proper manual) it works. Happy user.
Is there a way or site i can donated you guys?
The Forum accepts donations
...although all this was done for personal use and shared with the community for the common good...
found a sollution for the ugly big blue direction screen. Any other sollutions availble perhaps?
"There is a way to make it smaller:
Go to phone settings, enable developer mode (google it). Than open settings/additional settings/developer options/ and search for "smallest width".
Play with it, for me, on Xiaomi MiMax3 the best value is 392 dp, the banner it's smaller and the other information are big enough so i can read them.
This is the only solution i find for now, until TT will do something about it. Hope it helps."
For my samsung S20 its 410dp
The TomTom Forum has talked about a lot.
They say they are working on this issue but as of yet nothing.
That goes for GO Navigation and the TomTom NDS version.
The TomTom GO is dead and was replaced with GO Navigation.
We will have to wait and see what TomTom comes up with.
Maybe a popup of info that it goes away....
Like the Garmin units where there is a sliding window that show up when to take the next exit or highway.
Then the full map is there again......
It's basically playing with screen resolution (and density)
Most modern devices have settings in system options (FHD+, HD...), and with some it is possible to adjust it specifically for certain applications.
I agree the picture in portrait mode is the best for the road (Oneplus 6 - 411 res.) The Landscape is awkward and a lot more space is taken by the direction screen and the sidebar could be a lot smaller too.
All in all i think the NDS is a lot better then the old Android TomTom and I als want to thank you guys for this forum. I have been a long time TomTom user (Before PocketPC) but a few years ago Google got a lot better on Android devices but now TomTom Navigation is my nr 1 system again.
What I really would like is a better voice control. Google is better, you grab your phone and say: navigate to Kalverstraat parking and it goes. Now I have to punch that small microphone on the android keyboard to start it and that too big a hassle so I never use voice control on TomTom. Why is there no direct voice conrtrol from the TomTom search button? Or am I missing something?
