The correct place as stated by norkoi and others is Android/data/com.tomtom.gplay.navapp.nds/files/pois
Now if your location is correct for you it might be for others.
That is why screen shots are important.

You have to go to the maps window and first delete old maps and then download the new maps.
For some reason it is not automatic at this time.
i use dfox version nds map was 16464 deleted and download again still 16464 so i think automaticly
Map update is not for every country
