    Guide Tom Tom on the external card KIT KAT.

    Well it finally works the Tom Tom on the external card KIT KAT . Tested on several devices and it really works

    *

    1 - We delete everything related to TomTom , etc cartepas . and uninstalled the application, which of course had installed , lol.

    2 - Download the latest version 1.4 and Maps apk 945.6256

    *****Unzip it and now begins the mess .

    3 - Connect mobile phone to the PC and copy the folder com.tomtom.iberia Android / data path of External Sd .

    4 - Inside the folder are the files com.tomtom.iberia folder and metadata , as they cleared the metadata files and then open the folder and delete everything inside.

    5 - Now we have the com.tomtom.iberia unzipped folder on the PC and copy and paste the whole folder files ( without opening it ) and the metadata in the files we had empty folder in mobile. The route has to be so , com.tomtom.europe / files / files

    6 - Finally copy and paste the tomtom apk in Android / data of the External SD route.

    7 - Install the apk and go.

    With KK 4.4.x on External SD :

    SD ROOT / Android / Data / Com.tomtom.europe (empty folder) / Files <<<< here ALL Tomtom FILES FOLDER and Metadata.xml.

    Practically the path must be this:

    SD ROOT / Android / Data / Com.tomtom.europe / Files / Files

    EDIT :

    Try this

    INSTALL TOMTOM v. 1.3.2 UP WITH EXTERNAL SD KITKAT STOCK 4.4.2 (Original)without ROOT

    If you have done the installation, delete data and uninstall.
    Delete any devices in this folder TOMTOM

    Then create the path to the folder on the SD External:

    Android / data / com.tomtom. you want to use / files
    (For example: >> Android / data / com.tomtom.iberia / files or
    Android / data / com.tomtom.europe / files)
    (The folders on Android and you should have them already in origin ....)

    In the latter FILES folder, copy the metadata.xml (NOT need to change the path in metadata) and the entire folder FILES (including map) can be copy either from the folder TOMTOM >> COM.TOMTOM.THE STATE YOU WANT TO USE, downloaded on PC.

    Install the APK 1.3.2, NOT STARTING installer, restart your devices and launch the application from icon.

    if you get error "NOT 'CAN CONNECT TO THE TOMTOM" copied the file again in the first METADATA FILES folder and re-run the TT.

    Try it again as told on post #2 but you must use airplane mode when you install it and for the first startup. then you can do it on normal mode.

    Default TT on extSdCard 4.4.2 not rooted

    Thanks, works well on my Note3 (NO root), 4.4.2 on storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.tomtom.yourcountry/files/art ...,metadata.xml,..
    with tomtom 1.3.2, map v900.4617
    note: I removed the extra "files" folder from above file structure shown. On the PC you only see: Android/data...;on your phone you see storage/extSdCard/...
    After you create the above folders on your external SD, run the .apk to install but do not run TT
    First restart your phone. then run TT.
    To install the apk your Security settings must allow "Unknown Sources""
    that worked for me, good luck.

    A little old, but it can be useful to someone

    Root Android 4.4 + !!!

    Make a backup "platform.xml"

    1. Launch your favorite file manager with enabled root access rights.
    You can use any app you prefer which can run elevated on your device.
    For example, the 'Root Explorer' app or 'Total Commander' or 'File Manager' .

    2. Navigate to the following file:

    /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml

    3. Find android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and android.permission.WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE lines. These are XML sections. You need to make them look exactly like the strings below:

    <permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
    <group gid="sdcard_r" />
    <group gid="sdcard_rw" />
    <group gid="media_rw" />
    </permission>
    <permission name="android.permission.WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE" >
    <group gid="sdcard_rw" />
    <group gid="media_rw" />
    </permission>

    Save the platform.xml file. It’s necessary to set the file permissions to 644 (rw-/r–/r–) before mobile restarting. Now reboot your Android device.
