Sounds great. It will hopefully hush some complainers for a moment... Looking forward to another patched version release from MrDude.
Edit: just instaled... "a piece of art" release as always.
I like NOT to be prompted for a map update
I like to BE prompted for a map update
Thanks for posting. I've managed to trace where to patch now so that we can use ANY maps again + resume route is working, now we can use a modded content.info file again and everything works as expected. I've also changed a few patches to make future patching easier (as I can write a program to patch automatically without me needing to do anything apart from press a button). I'll release once I am finished testing all the new patches - but it's looking good for a release this weekend. Also I managed to find a proper legit licence with everything enabled apart from cockpit (for myself), which was kind of a bonus :-)

There shouldn't be any complaints this time, I spend hours testing it and a couple of days modding/tracing patches - this is about my limit hacking wise with this app, I don't think I can do anything to make the patches any better. If there are any issues, someone better than me is going to need to reverse it and find out what's up.
@mentaljim,
One thing I noticed was that when I put WIFI on it download older maps again after installing v18.8.6 on my test phone.
See screen shot.
Spoiler: Old maps.
I had the other day updated to ta.2021.02 using the downloader.
Stopped it from putting 2GB's of maps by turning off WIFI but if I put it back on it starts again.

Download maps without asking you?
Otherwise, the maps that the software downloads may be older than those by the downloader, this has long been the case, even with the original app.
After installing v18.8.6 I put WIFI on.
It showed updates I went and checked.
It showed what maps I have already on the phone.
Next thing it started updating.
I went and checked while connected to my laptop and as you can see it started updating Luxembourg in my first post. As I already had the latest I found it strange it had updates again.
So I stopped WIFI and exited SYGIC
Restarted the phone.
Stated Sygic again.
Then turned on WIFI and right away it want to keep downloading the older maps.
Spoiler: Picked up again.
All you can do is tell it later or download or turn off WIFI.....
I would thing if February's maps are on the phone it would just except that.
Other users will see updates and run into the same problem.
I will test on a second phone to see if it does it again and report back.
OK tested on a second phone.
Check the maps and you get the message there are map updates.
If tapped on it which I will not on the second phone.
With out it telling you what maps it will download users will click on it and will get older maps thinking there are newer maps.
That is users who have updated manually will have this problem.
Even if they have used the downloader to get newer maps.

The solution is - clean instal, replace 2020.02 maps from downloader. When going to the manage maps option, do not get tempted to press "free maps update button" as it will download TT2020.01 maps and you will never get rid of it even if trying to pause/stop the app or restart phone. This is how the app behaves since 18.8.5 version (if I'm not mistaken). So no big deal if the previous steps are followed.
OK did a clean installed and removed the one map from ta.2021.01
Copied over all the maps from ta.2021.02 and all is back correct again.
In saying so user's will make that mistake each time if they do not double check what maps they have already.
Copying downloaded maps Europe ta 2021.2 with downloader from my computer (Windows 10) to my Samsung S20+ doesn't work for some time not correctly anymore. I think from updating firmware Android11. On my phone I only find maps without files. (android\data\empty0 Never had that before. If I updated Sygic I downloaded 1 country from Europe. The rest I copied from my computer to my phone in Android\data\sygic.aura.com\maps.
If I try to copy the downloaded .ta files now it is very slow and ends before all files are ready. So I have to download them with my phone . This works but cost a lot of time.
Somone any tips to solve this. Thanks in advance.
Edit:
Downloaded Sygic Aura 18.8.6(190180806)mod over 18.8.5. without any problems.
No problems with .ta 2021-2 files.

I usually patch out that map update red indicator, but I didn't bother on this version. The app is working correctly though - it puts the correct maps on the device according to your account level, when you update the maps manually the date differs to what's on the database in your sygic app so it thinks there's an update - as you know there is not, just don't press the button to update and it will keep the current maps. If you want to remove that red icon because it annoys you - decompiled the apk and mod this:
classes 4 - com/smali/aura/views/UpdateDrawerArrow.smali
Go to this: method private showMapUpdateBadgeIfNecessary(I)V
Then in the code, just return-void at the top of that method and it won't show that red icon anymore.
Spoiler: screenshot
It wasn't patched because for regular users that don't manually update maps, they weren't or wouldn't be aware that there was a map update in xxx months time because the app wouldn't tell them. There is no way to cater for regular users and 'power' users at the same time - either it lets you know there's a map update or it doesn't. If you manually updated maps - just don't try and update them from within the app or it will downgrade them again to what's available for free users.
