Then just tell me what new feature is included in 18.5.0 which makes it worth to update coming from 17.9.x?

What have I noticed? - A higher resolution, compared with older versions, in TA maps (the same as in 18.4.4). The option "Re-center" that makes possible to put the arrow in the center of the map in a 3d vision, and not in a 2d vision that was a problem in older versions. - The possibility to send your itinerary to another person (and the hour you will arrive to your destiny). - A new friendly and clear interface. - All options can be configurated with one touch, and a screen appears in the left of the maps. You donīt have to leave maps to change options. - You never lose your travel because a little window appears in any screen you use (in my case a have a multimedia center). I think Sygic team have made a great and significant effort atttending what users have point as problems with Sygic GPS Nav. In my case, I insist, prefer HERE maps, and I hope MrDude will make me happy jejeje. Maybe other fellows donīt think like me, but this is my opinion. I invite everybody to test this version.

As far as I know, you could add HERE maps in regular Sygic (or you could have), but the issue was - all grey roads (paths, walking trails, restriction roads.... not "real" roads) will be shown as regular road making Sygic useless as it will give you wrong routing.... Not sure if something has changed recently....

    Cheers,

Out of the blue *traffic* stop working the other day... using Sygic 18.4.4 Ultimate(repack). From the beginning it was a clean install with the whole open/setup/close procedure done. I thought the traffic was suppose to work for at least a year(similar to Offline(clone)).
Anyway, I just used my old method...

    ... and have traffic back.
Now that MrDude has *automated* the whole process(thanks).... I hope it's instituted in the next version(18.5.xx?).

Sometimes the traffic server has issues - like all servers on the internet. Sometimes just closing the app and the opening again is enough to sort it out. However I've re-written the patches for autoid (no need to download any maps etc), so when I release a new version I'll post that.

    @mentaljim,

    I have a questions.

When I look on the Google store this info is always there.

    Size
    Varies with device

    Current Version
    Varies with device

When you patch a gps app it is just one size and one version that you post.

What is Google really talking about?

Your patched version does not know what phone or version of Android I am installing it on.

Does Google install a different way knowing what phone and version of Android it is going on???

Yes. That's the rule that applies to most applications out there. It depends on the architecture on your device.
If it's the latest 64bit android release on your phone (arm64-v8a), you'll also get the latest 64b version of app.

For older phone/android, you'll get unified older version of apk.

You can see what files with the appropriate specifications are available on sites such as apkpure, apkmirror,...
Before asking a question, know it's already discussed here and at 99.9% is not unique. Use search.

    Spoiler: obs
Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.

Most android apps are Java based and run through a java interpreter, - and therefore any device that can run java can interpret the code . You only need to care about Arm7/64/x86 etc when you have an app that has a lib folder, libs are compiled and work on different architectures and contains different instruction depending on devices they are running on - for example a lib using big endian - is not going to work on a device that uses little endian (some can use both). Arm64 devices are backwards compatible and run Arm7 apps no problem - hence why I usually only mod apps with armeabi-v7a app libs. Arm-v7 devices can't run 64 bit instructions though - so instead of needing to patch various different versions of the apps - only armeabi-v7a needs done as it works on everything (apart from x86 or windows based devices - (excluding an android emulator)).

Sygic apps (and mostly all others), know what version sdk (Android) you are running, they also know your Device serial, ID, Mac address, IMEI, what type of device (tablet/phone), Manufacturer and lots of other info about your device....also your IP address. As soon as you connect to Sygic Server - all that info is sent - it even checks if your device is rooted. Play store gets the same sort of data sent to it, and knows what apps are compatible with your device.

    FYI - Some example code:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Looking at this code - this is what it does: (Decodes a base64 string - then Connects to the internet - reads some text from pastebin and returns the string it reads. If the site can't be reached or the page is expired, it gets your real ID instead).

Now just as I show it's possible to download, it's also possible to upload and encrypt your upload address to make it hard to see where it's being uploaded to. This is just a warning to people that use cracked/non play store apps - that a modder can basically get any info he want's about your device - put files on it or upload files from it. Hence why you should be wary about what you put on your device. Not only can it be done in smali (java), libs can be added or modded to do the same thing.
