    Hello,

    I successfully installed this version of Sygic (v18.1.2 unlocked) on my car Universal Head Unit (Android 9.0). It is installed on the External SD Card (dedicated GPS slot). All map/poi/voice related files were downloaded directly from Sygic. I like the simplicity of the user interface and clean layout (over my old Igo Primo). However, I am having a small issue with performance lag.

    When I am driving, the navigation seems to move slow (and sometimes the TTS voice directions are also slow or late). For example:
    1- When I need to make a turn coming up soon - the voice directions alert me ahead of time. But when I am at now reaching the turn, the map view on the display still shows the turn further ahead - and/or the voice will alert me of the turn too late (after I have already passed the turn).

    -OR-

    2- When I turn, the map on the display freezes and does not rotate for several seconds (sometimes up to 20-30 seconds). After this delay the map view refreshes and rotates so that it is pointing in the correct straight-ahead direction. But the voice alerts will also delay. This presents a problem when I need to make an immediate second turn within a short distance. It can cause me to miss the second turn.

    Is there a setting in the application that I need to adjust? Or is there a modification that I need to make on one of the system files? This is the only issue I am having. I also tried by installing the app directly to the Internal memory and it still behaves in the same way. The processor in my Head Unit is powerful enough to handle this app (and I am only listening to the Radio, or playing MP3 files from a separate USB drive):

    Rockchip PX30 / 1.5Ghz / Cortex A35 / Quad-Core
    Ram: 2GB / Rom: 32GB

    Can you please help me solve this.

    Thanks,
    ggee

    @gguevara,

    That version was Beta.

    This a a list of Final versions.

    18.0.10
    18.1.4
    18.2.4
    18.3.2

    I would use one of these with a clean install.

    You can find the complete list of Final versions here:

    But there is no guarantee it will work 100 % on any Head Unit.

    @asprin624

    Thanks. I installed Sygic 18.2.4 version from this forum. I installed it to the internal memory of my Head Unit, for now (app and maps).
    I will test and monitor it as I start driving some more. In my quick test drive it seems to be a little better (but not by much).

    The reason why I changed navigation apps was because I had an old android head unit (Android 4.0) using an old Igo Primo (Isreal 9.6.29.390522). I now have this new more powerful android head unit (Android 9.0) and know my old Igo does not work with newer android os. So that is the reason why I changed to Sygic. I like the different layout because it looks modern and feels different in a good way. But I am having this performance issue with it. It feels like Sygic is a much heavier app on performance (2.2GB app+maps).

    To compare performance, I also just installed a newer Igo NextGen version to the external SD slot (Igo PAL 9.18.27.719974). It looks different from the old version, but the layout and feel is similar. I can tell you that it is a lighter app and performs faster with no noticeable lag (900MB app+maps+poi+voices+buildings).

    I will definitely stay with Sygic if I can get it to perform faster than it is currently performing (I only use it as an offline gps). So any help will be great and I will update with more results.

    Thanks,
    ggee
