Sorry, I didn't notice that. I took for granted that I could, because I already had 18.02 on exactly the same tablet running Android 4.2 (I have two), which was stolen two days ago.

Since version 17.9.0 I have also the Parse error. 17.9.0 I could install perfectly and then I always got the "parsing error".
Anyway if unlocked or Orginal apk. Also, the icon is only shown till vers. 17-9.0. Use Android5. *.
Maybe someone has an idea how I can solve the problem ??

@Klaus Meier,

There is no way you are getting a "parsing error" on Android 5

Spoiler: version info about Sygic

v17.9.0 could be used on Android 4.03 and higher
v18.02 could be used on Android 4.4 and higher.

Post screen shots of this "parsing error" and the version of Android that is on the smartphone or tablet you are trying to install it too.

Just tested a Huawei smartphone running Android 5.1.1 installed Sygic v18.0.2 with no problems at all.

Hi, I encountered a problem, the app can start up, but it prompt to download a map when startup first time, even I copied new maps to maps folder. after I downloaded a map(any region), app works fine and all maps I copied can work. I wonnder to know why app can't recognize the maps at first time?

Hi mate,
that was because you did not have it restarted, rebooted, if (read if!) you already have a maps installed on your device already and you wanted to install a newer version on it without having to do everything fresh (installation) again, after you copying the base folder with the content of it on the root of your device and -overwrite them by clicking on ok = agree- then you install the newer apk version of sygic you have to reboot it (your device) and then start the sygic and than it went / works ok.
summary: copy the base on the existing version and overwrite it (them) and then install the apk and do not start it but first reboot your device.. good luck.

Ps: that maps downloader prog is not always working properly with downloaded maps, had bad experiences with it, I would rather download the maps directly from sygic server instead of using these maps downloader prog.

Hi mates,

Sygic 18.0.3 build_190180003..

just to let you know mates, I have just installed the new version 18.0.3 on the old one 18.0.2, just overwritten it, then I started the sygic app once and turned it off, and than restarted the phone and than started the sygic app again and I choosed one of the saved route and it started it just fine / Ok.. w.o.words, its no need to remove (deleted) it first and than reinstall it again as a fresh one as the most forums that claimed with them howto etc.

Ps: no offence meant ofcourse.

@MadyenMadyen,

This is OK for power user's who know what they are doing.

But many user's here do not read anything and are always posting problems that should not happen.

It is better for most user's to do a clean install.

That way they are starting clean and hopefully they have gotten rid of the problems they have made for themselves.

Plus you are talking about v18.0.3 and this section is about v18.0.2.

@asprin624 / hoi maat,

you are absolutely right, in that, that the most of the visitors they do not read the whole topic and the howto etc, and it could cause some a "problems" with the sygic software, but that I post it on a wrong topic (section) my post (reply) is not, I deliberately placed it here because it was an upgrade of an older v18.2 to the newer v18.3.. i'm talking about an upgraded from an old 18.2 to a newer 18.3.. hence.

all in all, thanks for your kindly replied (post) my dear.

Hi MadyenMadyen, I tried 2 phones, fresh installation (uninstalled old version, make sure no com.sygic.aura folder), but still same problem. Actually I installed sygic on one cellphone, downloaded a map, then copy whole com.sygic.aura and apk file to another phone, installed apk, reboot phone, when start sygic, still failed and prompt to download map.
