If a delimiter character is used in a field and it's not escaped (ie: put in quotes); then yes, it will be a problem. So the question is, would Sygic converter accept a quoted field containing characters used as a delimiter.
I like to use Semicolon when formatting. For if a Comma is within a Field content, then this can be recognized as a Separator. So can a CSV be read wrong?
RUPI-Converter itself has no Problems with Semicolon as Separator.

sorry, the Subject derailed - it's about converting from * rupi to * .csv
for me is EOD
The delimiter of | is used because it's rare that people will use it in the fields. Not a big deal since the converter allow the user to give the delimiter. There are many reasons why people wants to convert from .rupi to .csv; ranging from recovery of original data to changing it. And of course, using it in another format. If the data is to be analyzed directly by the user (ie: changing it), then clarity is important. But what is clear to one person might not be clear to another. Personally, I like the | because it's clearer to me, that is why it's defaulted.

Actually there is a program (RupiManager) that can convert rupi files to Point Of Interest (POI) Manager for Sygic navigator on Android phones / tablets in GPX KML TXT CSV ASC OV2 & RUPI formats. And you can view them with a windows program such as Base Camp or Mapsource or Google Maps.
If "RupiManager" works for you, then go for it. A simple google search will find it, so not a breaking news. I preferred a Window/Linux based converter rather than Android. Feel free to open another thread regarding "RupiManager" and a tutorial on how to use it.

The opening of the thread was "How to Convert from Sygic .rupi to .csv. And there was no question of" How this was possible in Windows or Linux. I just wanted to mention here for those who didn't know this.
I have been using this program since 2014.
The title is general, read the 1st post and it's clear. But like I said, feel free to open a new thread for RupiManager (with the name in the title) to help others. RupiManager looks like a good product. The free version will do up to 10* conversions, but I'm sure it doesn't cost very much to purchased** it.

Google Play wants that the developer manages the international taxation by itself. This implies high management complexity therefore a cost that is too high compared to the units sold. So, with regret, this software cannot be sold outside European Union that got a simpler, common taxation scheme. You can try to buy it trough an european friend."

Discussion closed for me.
I bought this program in 2014 for € 0.99. I don't know the current price. I was interested in this program at the time, as I had also converted some similar Garmin programs into the French language for JaVaWa.
Unless you are in Europe, going to the paid version, you won't see price. Probably because unless you're in Europe, you can't buy it.
