    Default Sygic Car Nav, Ford Sync 3 sytem, Android connect issues

    This problem appears to be restricted to the Sync 3 system in my Ford Transit 350 HD (which is the chassis for a small RV) as it does not show up in any of the Ford car systems I have tried, but it prevents me from using Car Nav through the Sync 3 system. Perhaps someone has seen this and has some idea what might fix it, so I wanted to post it here.

    I have 2 Samsung phones - an older S7 Edge and a new S10 Plus. Both have Car Nav installed on them but when I connect the older phone via a micro-usb cable I see the Car Nav icon on the Sync 3 screen but when I press it to start the app I get a "Waiting for device" message that never completes and I have to terminate the app. When I connect the newer phone via a usb-c cable I get a "Device not responding" message and so can not even get the app to show up on the Sync 3 screen, so neither phone works for Car Nav with my Sync 3 system.

    I can run both Car Nav and GPS using CarPlay with my wife's iPhone, and both run properly, but I would prefer to use my Android phone since (1) my wife wants to use her phone for calls and browsing when we are traveling, (2) the Premium cost on the Android phone is only a fraction of the cost on the iPhone and (3) I have much more storage space on the Android phone by using an external sd card.

    Can anyone give me any help here by giving me any reason I might be getting these messages? My first thought was that perhaps the cables are not high quality enough but I have been using the OEM cable that came with the S10 Plus and have bought no less than 7 or 8 "data" cables trying to find one that might fix this issue. None have made any difference. Is there some OS setting that might make a difference?

    @MesaMike,

    First of all you need a lic. for Android phone it is not transferable from Iphone account.

    I do hope we are talking about the google version of this app and not the one you can get here.

    Your best bet is to contact Sygic direct with your problem.

    I have an Android license for Car Navigation. I don't know why the iPhone license for the same app is so much higher than the Android license, but I chose Android because of the price difference for the license.

    Someone on another forum sent me a link to information that allowed me to finally get Car Navigation working on my Sync 3 system, but only using my older Android phone. I still can not get it working with the new usb-c connected phone.

    All I can say is to contact Sygic with your problem.

    Here is a link with tips on how to make it work.

    If that did not help use this link at the bottom of the help to contact them.
