Default Planning a route from B and C, being in A

I’m a brand new user. I want to plan a route starting from a place different from where I am.
At the beginning of such a procedure, after fixing the destination that I later will consider my starting place, Sygic starts calculating the route from where I am and the choosen place, that is not what I’m searching for as final result. So, I continue by clicking on “adding waypoint” and write what I later will consider the final real destination and Sygic traces the new route. After that I click on “change start point” in order to delete the place where I am and sobstitue it with the place I am searching as real starting place. At that point Sygic ends working, the screen becomes grey and asks if I want to exit.
Summarising; I am in A and want to plan the route between B and C. To do that I initially fix B as the first destination, then I fix fix the final distination C as a new waypoint and finally change the starting place from A to B to obtain the route from B to C, that is what I deside.
Could someone to be so nice to tell me what I make wrong and tell me how to correctly operate step-by-step to do that?

The way you operate to change start point is correct, maybe you have some problem with sygic version or your device. To me the screen don't get grey (sygic 17.2.1 android 5.1.1)

Here is how I do it with my Sygic Truck 13.2.7 running on Android 5.1.1, me being in point A: search for point C and set it as destination, search and select point B as start and then I save the route from B to C. Try using an older version, like 15.XX or Sygic Truck 13.2.7.
