Post How to display Chinese or Taiwanese Characters

I downloaded Garmin Taiwan onto my Nuvi, but I am unable to display the Taiwanese characters. Is there a language add-on that I can install?

    Thanks

chineses maps can be displayed on a garmin device with chinese firmware or with mobile xt 5.00.60 and 5.00.50 TWN version

With 2010 maps,. this never worked for me. My workaround is to convert the map using Mapconverter so they appear in Mapsource 6.13 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Once they're converted, I then run "All.bat". Then, and only then, are the maps unlocked.

And just a few minutes ago, I used catymag's instructions. I copied a locked gmappsupp.img file from my Nuvi onto my PC. I imbedded the file within one of the Garmin files in Mapsource where there are lots of .img files. And to cover all bases, I created another folder within the Garmin folder, called Taiwan where my supp map is stored. I ran "All.bat" and it found all the previous files but ignored the added supp file.

Thanks. Is there a way to transfer mobile XT onto a Nuvi? Here is a link Taiwan
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
But, having just downloaded and installed the firmware, the characters are still not displayed properly.

you need to create a new folder on the SD card called Garmin. Rename your existing file to gmapsupp.img.

follow our friend above advice but you cant have both 2009 map and 2010 too( same region), backup the old one and delete it from your device
