When do we get v6?
Hi Guys
This is a patching utility for GPSMAP64 series firmware 5.00 and 5.10. It’s tested with 64st, but that uses the same firmware as other 64 series I believe.
The main use of it is allowing the replacement of various graphic elements in the GPS unit with user supplied images.
These include the background wallpaper, a test image displayed in the test/calibration screen, two trip computer panels,
and two compass backgrounds. This is really made as easy as making some standard 24 bit bitmap files, and pushing a button.
The program also supports spoofing a different firmware version for easy update, as the unit will not accept the same version firmware as that which it is
already using (as with many other Garmin GPS units). This feature works the same as some other programs out there, but is here in the same place.
There’s one more secret functionality, for which other programs also exist, but I’ll keep the method to activate that to myself for now :D
Enjoy!

Hi,
There is a version 6, but it will be the last one. I accidentially deleted the source code with a Ubuntu installer (formatting the wrong drive).
It still deals with GPSMAP 64 version 5.10, which looks like it’s still current, but if there’s ever an update for the 64 device, that won’t be supported.
New features are mainly a seperate user supplied image for every location that can be replaced. There’s a bit more, but I forget at the moment :D
Here you go
V6 should be attached to this post.
The main difference is that each GUI image that can be changed has it’s own specific user supplied bitmap file (with examples).
A few other minor improvements are listed in the readme.

Cheers.
