    new ImgTool up to v.1.9.4

A tool to examine and manipulate Garmin IMG

I have implemented this functionality (i.e. display and change of the img part number) in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Please, if you want to try it, back up your img before...
For me it works fine with topo Pro Germany, Austria and France...

Also ability to change MS Flag from 1 to 0 (and back) in two clicks:

    img tool

And easily change Mapset name, Map name and description directly on the image file:

    img tool 0

Change or Add unlock codes easily and change other attributes in a couple of clicks:

    img tool codes

Open JCV files to view pictures/layers:

    img tool jcv

    Available languages in newest versions
    :

    img tool lang

    latest version on site
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    ImgTool up to v1.9.4
    Changelog:
    - Improved JCV support (especially support of Japanese JCVs, like CN Japan NT 2015.10 M).
    - Fixed several bugs.
    - Updated language files.

    ImgTool v1.9.1
    Changelog:
-For JCV files, adding a new feature: the "Junction Views" button to browse through the different views by card number and link numbers. The views are displayed as they appear on the GPS.
-Support "Drag & Drop" the files can be opened by dragging and dropping them onto the main window.
-New search tool for finding the tile corresponding to data (latitude / longitude)
-Support for the "Open read-only" Windows.
-Addition of .tdb files to the list of supported files.
-By default the files are now open in write mode locked to prevent other software to change the currently edited files in ImgTool.
To find the open mode of previous versions check the option 'Open files write in writing mode in the Preferences window.
-Fixed many bugs and various cosmetic improvements.

    For HEX editor lovers!

Small Microsoft Excel file for convert Part Number from HEX to ANSI or vice versa.

SORRY! Now this file only for Russian locales due to peculiarities of my remote access! Usually Microsoft makes compliance to any locale but I am not sure for other devices than mine. If you need the file for the English locales for Excel you must ask me!

Default additional Perl script to change or add part number in an image file

Here is a Perl script to change or add the part number in an image file. It works an a Windows system with Perl installed or of course on a Linux system:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The script takes two parameter, which can be changed in the script - see the marked lines in the first part):

    - the name of the image file (default: 'imagefile.img', as you always should worked with a copy)

    - the part number as normal string like '010-D1160-00' for Transalpin 2012 Pro (default: empty string).

The part number will be coded (second part) and the resulting 9 bytes are written into the imagefile (third part), beginnend at position 48 (hex 0x30).

Excuse me but what is the "part number" in a image map? What is it doing? Is it doing anything? Why do you care to change it?

Man, I am falling behind this days. Need to catch up fast. Thanks Caty!!! You are the Garmin Underworld Goddess! I am so obsessed with the FW hacks that I forgot about the maps. Very interesting indeed! Very useful for hikers and especially for offroaders is this new implementation! Now how can this be implemented in the old maps or in the custom ones? Hmm...
