    Thanks,

I had seen the links but could not get them to work. I have read through again and think I know what I have done wrong. Will give it a go again tonight.

    Hello,
I've tried to flash my nuvi 2598. The updater starts, saying it's erasing software and after a few seconds there comes a window saying "error in the software" ( see attached image ). I tried the same on an XP machine with older hardware, got the same message. Thank you for your help!
