If not, any help you can give me will be highly appreciated. My garmin unit is as I said 421s with only basic worlwide maps and very low resolution when I zoom in. Thanks in advance.
    Copy your gmapsupp.img in a Garmin folder in an sd, you can check the map on pc with Homeport software

    Hello,
    I do not have yet of GPS, but I will buy Oregon 450 and I hope that with this Garmin unlocker alternate I will be able to install and use the charts on the device and this, in spite of protections of the firmware;
    By reading the forum, I learned much and this evening I raise my glass to the health of Catymag and the people of volunteers; with your! thank you :-) hic hic !!!

    Hi Catymag,

    I can unlock my map with Fast IMG locker v.1.5 or 1.7 and I can see it and use it in Garmin's HomePort program, but my brand new device can not find the maps from SD? My new device is GPSMAP 720 (latest firmware 3.00) and I used 32-bit Vista with Fast IMG locker. In SD card unlocked img-file is under Garmin folder. I have tried to unlock the img with "gmapsupp.img" and with original file VEU050R.img, but nothing works. Any idea how to get this file to work with GPSMAP 720? Have Garmin changed file security system or what? What I wonder is why the img file is working fine with HomePort, but not with the device?

    Map size is 334 Mb. So I think it is not the reason, SD card is 2Gb. I also tried to use older and latest BlueChart Atlantic 2008.5, but GPSMAP 720 did not open them either. Those maps are working fine with my hand held GPSMAP 60CS.
