Hello peterversely, you should describe the navigation system that your scenic has and the version that is installed. Does it has a tomtom carminat live navigator?

It's Carminat (Live version), without any doubt.

Its possible in many ways ..

    1. go on ebay and buy SD there
    2. install tomtom home2 and update from there
    3. change CID and copy archive from original SD

If you go with 3th option, you must know that Carminat TomTom Live system DO NOT support SDHC SD cards .. so you must get non SDHC card, change CID and you are fine. I suggest you first or second option, because for thirth option you dont even have proper SD, nor CID nor ARCHIVE.

that's good info but it confuses me..

I created a clone of the original and change CID using Samsung Evoplus SD HC 32 Gb and the system accepted new SD and updated the navcore without any issues. But when it should show the map than I get an error.. so I can't see any logic about the statement that the system hates HC standard. If that's true than why on earth the system installed the navcore from that SD? Also, If you buy any SD empty card in any shop you can officially update your system and the maps trough Tomtom Home without any problems on any SD HC card. I did it a few times using cheap Kingston 8 GB SD HC micro+adapter. But you have to pay for the updates off course. So that's why I think there is another catch making clones of the original.

Not true. There are many guys who sells "cloned" SD cards on ebay, I bought many SD cards from there and none of them was ORIGINAL. All of them was cloned SD (map version 9.65) with the "original" label and all with the same CID. The only question is how they "do it"
