Lets be clear about this. If you see POI icons on map and no notification when driving near it (banner message at top and audio), it means alert is NOT working. When normal Garmin alert working, you will
1. See it activates via message telling you that it occurred (at top center and small icon at left)
2. Audio occurred via built-in tone or sound via .wav/.mp3 (StreetPilot* can't handle sound but tone will work)
Garmin alert also have a way to indicates directional capability. You can also have Cyclop alert (which is totally different from Garmin) which have better visual presentation and proprietary tone. Cyclop data are encoded and most of it functional are unknown (I only decoded subset and guessed at some)
In all of your videos, I do not see the alerts activated. Yes you see the icons which what normal POI records showed. But the alert component is not working on your Honda Connect. I am hoping for proof that alerts are working on Honda Connect, that is why I asked for video.
* since StreetPilot is android based and Honda Connect is also android, I'm comparing and expecting similar behaviors from both
So here is a summary:
Spoiler: .
I actually see the icons but no alerts
sorry misunderstanding
Yes that is what we concluded after several testings and videos. I'm hoping that mvito actually saw alerts working* on his Honda Connect and whether your version in France/Belgium had it "deactivated."
* that is why I asked for video and his .gpi
On my 2015 Honda CRV I installed alerts from TOMTOMAX for France (bmp 64*64 and WAV sounds) with POI Loader.
I can see alerts on the GPS but there is no sound. I suspect that WAV is not the right format, but no idea on what to use
Find attached video of just one of the speedcam locations. One video is with my speedcam icon, the other is same route but using your gpi. I noticed your gpi file is some 30 times smaller than mine for, I assumed, the same data. Is this because my icons for the camera are much bigger or is there a way to compress the gpi? I have made return routes through the speed camera in case any alert was direction sensitive. I have added a couple of photos indicating Garmin info. It would appear to me that I cannot have alerts with this system, which is a disappointment. However I was wondering if it is possible to animate the speedcam icon, as with vehicle icons (Simpsons characters), which would give the opportunity to have a flashing icon as an alert. Thank you for your assisstance so far, much appreciated.
Thanks for the excellent video and info. Definitely not alerts capable*. The coords are exactly the same; the reason why it's smaller is because your .gpi has .wav and mine used built-in tone. The size of my icon is 24x24 (it's max for StreetPilot), but on Honda Connect it can be larger (read previous replies about that) Icons are simple .bmp so can't be animated. It would seem Honda Connect can only handle Garmin POI record and not any extension that makes it alerts (omni or directional)Quote:

* as long as behavior is same in driving as in simulation (some system alerts work correctly in driving but not in simulation)
Just a final test, driving through your speedcam both ways and still no alert, just the icon, showing same results as simulation. Thank you for your help.Quote:

Thanks for the check. My best recommendation is to continue to pressured Honda dealership so that they will get NNG to allow alert from POI.
