Default Exit services and those of you who have devices that have this feature

Does anyone know if this feature is integrated into the regular poi or if it's separate like the cyclops cameras or truckdown? I recently switched my device (765t) to sg/my firmware and I now have exit services as an option, only I assume the only exit data I could get would be for Singapore and Malaysia since this feature is not enabled in the us firmware. It would be useful to know what's coming up at each exit without having to search for it.

I don't have any idea if it even a feature on the new units but I read up and according to Garmin the 24xx, 25xx, 34xx, and 35xx had this feature.

G'day Marine. Been having a chat with all ya mates while i've been catching z's i see ...

I didn't mean for you to infer that the 'Exit' icon available in 'Where To?' menu of SG fw with AU/US Locale is the same as 'Exit Services' for later devices in my answers in the other thread:

In my nuvi 3597 setting locale as UK or Luxembourg etc will enable an audible over-speed alert which isn't available for US or AU for instance. Have a play around, numerous hard-reset won't hurt it.

It's often a 'tradeoff' for features when you cross-flash firmware. "Garmin giveth and Garmin taketh away".
The Exit icon isn't available to US fw [nor is there anything in it's place]. It's definitely not in the menu either for SG fw with location set to SG [but you get the Travel Guide icon in it's place].

    Standard US fw menu:

    menu US

    SG fw with US locale:

(ii) I'm sure your assumption is correct that any Garmin online services have been discontinued.
(iii) No, not in 765. Possible in some far more recent units to change Country thru hidden menu behind speedo though.
My comment 'maybe it's the same sort of thing' was musing that it might give similar info for upcoming exits, not that it works in the exact same way. Certainly 'Exit Services' in recent units use the POIs from the map. I think it was introduced with dezl 560 [trucker's unit] and then flowed thru to nuvi units as well:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
This is from a dezl 560:

6647466 When 'Exit Services' icon pressed, this results:

6643236 No additional POI files on board, so it's from the map.

This is 765 running SG set to AU locale on the M1 approaching the same exit:

menu When 'Exit' icon pressed, only get this:

    message

That's a similar message to the one given for 'Exit Services' when not on a major arterial ['Exit Services are only available on major motorways']. Same map, same route used for both 560 & 765:

    map

So it seems clear that however 'Exit' works in modded 765, it's not using POIs from the map like 'Exit Services' does, so i guess maybe it needs an additional POI file?

I'm going to hit the highway later and test this out, It seems odd to me why I would have an exit option but no data to use it. If that poi exists, I'm sure we can find it.

Truckdown isn't a program, just a POI set as the usual Garmin *.gpi file. Unlock it with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] if locked. Put it in Garmin>POI folder. If it can be correctly read by SG fw you'll get an additional icon in 'Where To?' menu as shown here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

To set simulator in 765: Tools>Settings>System>GPS Mode and select 'GPS Off'.
