Thanks for that useful information! Red light cameras are implemented for the increase of safety to intersection but have been precisely the opposite, many people say it is only for money grab. It take a photo of a driver and his or her license plate when they drive through a red light. Motorists typically hate them. Many feel the products are intended to make cash for a city, and not to catch bad-guys. However, two devices have just appeared that use comparable technology to make [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] photos useless to law enforcement. One of the gadgets can be bought now. The other is still raising money to get UL certification.

Yup, sure does Kay [hope the 255W is still kicking for you]. Remember being answered with this from elsewhere?:
........... Although the file name indicates 'safety_camera_australia', it seems Garmin has happily lumped AU & NZ into the same file:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    .........
In the above link Garmin is definitely offering a combined file which includes both Countries "Cyclops™ Safety Cameras, Australia and New Zealand" but the actual file-naming itself appears to indicate AU only. I've changed my wording regarding the 'AU' file in kenta2's initial post to be clear about it being for both, sorry for any confusion.

Hi folks. I downloaded the us and canada gpi file and dumped it in my POI folder. Is it supposed to show up in my extras? Because the only thing that is showing up is my custom pois.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it, its in Tools> Settings>System> About under Extras and Safety Cameras.

Now i can see the .system folder.

I succesfully updated my Nuvi 3790, first time it show me river and green while driving around!
And even warn for red light camera now! Wow!

Catymag do an good effort for explaining everything.
I wish i now my nuvi same like you!

It was a little puzzling the first time, but my nuvi works perfekt and is as new.
With an sd-card and this handy gps forum, i read and found out everything already.

My wife very happy with her updated 3790 and me with my 1490!

I always put these in the Garmin\POI directory on my 755T. There is no such directory on a 2555LMT. Do I create it or does it go somewhere else?

    -Thanks-

If the folder doesn't exist then create in the root of your 2555. The name isn't case sensitive or important and location of the folder isn't even specific. You can name it poi, Poi, POI, Cams or anything like XXX or even scatter the *.gpi files around in the unit or media card and they'll still be found by the unit. You can do the same in your 755 and also with MP3 files too with it.

Some files must remain in specific folders/paths but not GPI files.

    Hi,

Cyclops files POST 1 run perfectly on Garmin 3790LMT, but French speedcams are Dangerous zones.
It's correct I haven't audio with Dangerous zones logo on screen with this GPS ?

When i put the new one from post 102, i put it on POI so far so good.
But i can see some old one and they are from 2012 and i can`t find it nowhere when i is connected to my computer.
So how to delete they from 2012?
Seems like this happened at the last update of maps, i have a lifetime updating of maps that are on a sd memory chip
