    This morning I re-testing (KNA-G620T) with the audio files in WAV, PCM, 16bit, 44100KHz, mono and nothing. Although this time I converted to PCM standard and nothing new. It is caught with one of the wav (in my case with the announcement of the radar signal) is repeated a few times and reset the unit.

    I have spoken again, this morning, Kenwood and I have confirmed that it should not work since it is designed for a single sound so I will have to wait to take out a new firmware (current is 2.70) with new settings where I hope to take into account this modification.

    If you have any new ideas tested.

    Thank you.

    In models G620T Kenwood KNA-pois single warning radars with a single "beep" which is risk to the driver as it should look at what the speed limit warning is announced. In the case of pois if they are bmp images of each type of speed.

    I think it's more practical and safer for all drivers, a voice announced radar limit by which we (30, 40, 50, etc.). Or if semaphore type, pattern, tunnel, black point etc..

    I hope that in future this be taken into account the safety of all. Look at the NAV screens is not recommended because of the risk posed to others and for oneself.

    Think carefully.
    Thanks for all the contributions.

    When you run the POI LOADER program, It will create a folder, make sure to call it POI. You wil then have a POI folder

    Hi,

    I would like to create a .xls file to of poi that I want to add to Garmin as custom poi's. I would like to know the proper format for the information columns in excel to be converted to Garmin. ie northing, easting, name, address, postal/zip code, phone #, type (ie fuel, motel, cafe,etc) for proper icon to display. Is there a file somewhere of available icons for the various types of poi's?

    I know it sounds like a lot of work but I have used this kind of thing in MS Streets & Trips and would like to do something similar in my Garmin gps radio. I will check out poi factoryand see if there is more info there.

    Thanks

    Hi

    I'm curious as to the POI. As I understand it from the Garmin site, POI are point of interest. But what I have seen in this links here are mostly related to Camera sites. I'd like to know if the POI is only of these camera sites?

    @jcquantum
    POIs can be pre-compiled for you such as Garmin Cyclops (already *gpi files) or SCDB (which have *.bmp & *.csv files that you combine using POILoader into *gpi files). If you don't want the usual 'ding dong' alerts, you can add standard .wav or .mp3 sound files depending on unit to give spoken alerts (e.g. 'Redlight camera ahead'). You can also make your own custom ones (e.g. ''Smile dopey, you're about to be photographed'). Custom POIs can be made for different purposes, e.g. Airports, or any other locations, such as fuel/motel/cafe locations as in the post above yours.
