Seriously, I read the posts thoroughly but maybe you can tell me if I'm doing it right:
1. Unzip the downloaded "LanguageGuide.rar" file (as you indicated above) and copy the unzipped LEX_PKG folder directly into the Garmin folder on the equipment;
2. Generate unlock code (using the "JM-KG-v1.5+5Digit+ChecksumFix.exe") with GPS-ID and saved it in a file named either D046800.unl or gmapsupp.unl (both will work, right?);
3. Copy the generated "unl" file into the Garmin folder on the unit;
4. Disconnect from the PC and something should happen as the unit boots, right?... Hopefully...
Well, I think I've done it, but I can try again.
Please did you have some additional tip/recommendation?
are you talking about this language guide in this thread or the newer in the sticky thread?
this older will work using old jetmouse keygen (not JM-KG-v1.5+5Digit+ChecksumFix.exe )as written in this thread and named gmapsupp.unl in Garmin folder-
For the other newer guide follow poster's instructions in that thread, it works in my nuvi
Ok, I've moved this conversation to the thread you indicated.
I hava a nuvi 1200, and have tried all the suggested options to try and unlock the language guide, as yet i´m still unsucessful
And the moment it is on the 4GB memory card, i generate the unlock code, paste it into the unl file and it still says locked
when i try to run it, any ideas as to what i´m doing wrong ?
follow step by step instructions in post one, it works in my nuvi 1200.
Use old keygen as written
Ok, got it working off the sd card by using the method lolypop000 described, thanks for the help
I just installed both on my European Nuvi 3790T.
The Travel Guide goes in Nuvi 3790T\Garmin\POI, along with the .unl file.
The Language Guide goes in Nuvi 3790T\Garmin, along with the .unl file.
Does anybody know if language guid works with nuvi 1490T? I am in trouble using it. I used keygen and edit gmapsupp.unl but useless.
Please anybody help me...
