    Hello,

USB port works, it must be a file that makes the problem during playback ?
Did you have checked firmware files 2.86 ?

    Hello,

Yes, I have tried all methods. I even checked with Beyond Compare program to make sure the files are same. It's so illogical, same files copied to CD pass the CRC Check and installation proceeds but on USB not.

I was thinking to try editing the firmware to bypass the CRC Checking, but looks too complicated for my programming skills. Funny thing that I altered one of the files in UPG/Command to show text a bit different when upgrading and it worked to pass the CRC Checking (as long as file size was kept same as before).

I am going today to service to try installing with original CD, but I have the feeling that it would be the same situation. I think the error is because of SD Card in nav system (I understand it has one).

Im following this tread because i have the exact same problem.
without luck so far i also put a new SDcard in the RT6:
The RT6 has a SDcard (4GB in my case) with 3 partitions. 3rd partition is for the nav software, 1st en 2nd are smaller and contain other software. In my case there was a diskfailure in the 2nd partition, not solvable by windows because its based on linux: 3 primary partitions, where windows can only acces 1 primary (the first) on a disk. Ive cloned the good 1st en 3rd partition to a new card [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], the cloning on itself was a succes, but the result was also exactly a clone of the problem before...

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] , there is someone whit a repaired unit that had the same problem as we. Sounds hopefull, I think I will try that.

    Hello,

So I have finally solved it. In my case no faulty unit, it was due to CD. Looks like original CD has some protection against non-original copies. The installation went right through and system is back. So be careful about it, looks like just a simply copy of files to CD is not enough, there is additional protection.

Don't bother cloning old nonworking SD card. Put new in and start system upgrade from USB and the upgrade procedure will create proper partitions and put software where it should be. After such clean installation you only have to do "calibration" at your dealer. Done this several times always working as a charm.

    This is interesting.
I'm having a similar problem: the system stays 5/10min analyzing the media and then nothing happens.

I'm now questioning how can the "copies" work for some people.

EDIT: did they charged you for doing the update? How much?

    Hi,

Yes, well not officially to say, I talked directly to service manager, it cost me approx 25 euros. But at least issue solved.

But it is clear 100% in my case. I've tried with countless CDs, nothing. Inserted original CD in unit, it worked from first try. So better take original CD and try with it. I do not know what kind of protection is in place, but clearly there is one, at least for my unit.

But if a new firmware drops out your unit will still probably be "locked" and you'll need to update again via original CD. That sucks.

    EDIT:
I was having a similar problem but I finally managed to update all the way up to 2.86 without original CDs!

I was stuck on FW 2.75 and the only update that worked for this version was 2.80 2.77 would fail, so I skipped it.
After being on 2.80, version 2.85 failed too. So I went directly to 2.86 and it finally updated!

    So the sequence was 2.75 -> skip 2.77 -> 2.80 -> skip 2.85 -> 2.86.

I have now my system on FW 2.86, 2017-1 maps, April 2017 speedcams, two new unlocked themes and a new menu with oil and water temperatures and tires pressures!

You didn't say how did you actually solved the situation. Did you go to the dealer, and he gave you the original CD, or? I have the exact same situation with the exact same car, so any clue would be appreciated.

I also solved the situation (same as for windstorm)... I disassembled the RT6 unit, took out the 8GB SD-CARD, placed a new one, and the update went on smoothly.....
    But...
After the update, the unit is acting strangely.
First: The Logo changed to Peugeot (ok, this doesn't bother me too much)
Second: The buttons on the control unit changed their meaning: Settings button turned into TA button. Navi button doesn't work, the rollers on the steering wheel changed their behavior.
Third: the unit doesn't remember the settings: example: set Random Play on all media, after restart this doesn't happen anymore (used to happen with the previous firmware), at every startup, it is asking for the bluetooth code...Any ideas on what should be the next step? Can the calibration at the dealer solve this situation?
