There are 17 files that make up the main installation.
You will also need the generator_java.zip file. Note that you will need a version of Java on your PC to run the java applet.

2.- Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the final ZIP file.

3.- Put all the files contained in the archive in the root directory of a USB 4GB or larger.

4.- Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the generator_java.zip archive.

5.- Double-click on the generator.jar file to start the applet.
You will need to input the full chassis number of your car.
Browse for the file "CCT.DAT.inf". It will be on the USB stick in "/SMEG_PLUS_UPG/DATA".
Do NOT use any other "CCT.DAT.inf" as it will not generate the correct activation code.
Make a note of the activation code.

    ------------------------ In the car ------------------------

6.- Insert the USB drive. We let the system read it.

7.- Select the Satellite Navigation option.
On the touch screen, tap the Settings tab of the screen and look for Map Settings.

8.- When the map of Europe appears, tap the SEARCH option and then access all the maps we have in the USB.

9.- Choose the map(s) you want to update.
You will be asked for the activation code.
Once entered, accept and begin the update, we will see a progress bar.
To update all of the maps will take about 1 hour.
    THIS DID NOT WORK...

It seems that my unit cannot recognize AM and PM. On the navigation screen it is always PM(dar sky). If I just put the ignition on but engine not started, it is "AM" (sky blue)
did you have the same problem? (ut is set on automatic mode in the navigation menü)

Thanks kinlozen for your quick and clear response. Indeed, my SW version is not 3.86 but 2.86 as correctly noticed by you. My typing error.
Using the generator key by ccd.dat.info file from the root does indeed give a completly different activation code, so I am confident this is the solution to my problem. I will try within short in the car and let you know the result.

Just installed some maps. Works like a charm on RT6. Solution was indeed for RT6 to validate the activationcode with the Java generator with the ccd.dat.info in the route of the usb key, and not via SMEG_PLUS or SMEG_IV2_UPG\DATA\ccd.dat.info.
Thanks once more kinlozen for your advice, and also a big thank you to all who made the download possible.

Its possibele that you power off engine in update process.

Try reinstall map again or install Russian map to delete all Europian, and after that install Europian map again.

Language is the same but you will lose europian map and get russian. You need do this becouse I dont know other way to delete existing map and you must do this becouse existing map have some bad part of file. I think you have "insert navigation cd" message too on screen when you want to use navi.

After than you can install clean europian map again.

Now you have screen without any map and you cant to navigate. Try to find whole russian map.

You cant anything to lose only a lot time about 6-8 hour.

And engine must power on when you install maps on RT6.
