To start with it sounds like the laser is on the way out so you should fix this i underlying issue first before you feed the unit with thr firmeare disc again. You may want to try to clean the.head first sometimes it helps

    Hi Guys!

I' recently bought a beautifull 407 GT coupe which Im in love already.
I'm working on the USB stick mod at the moment, but unfortunately Peugeot in Oxford has no idea about their cars.
I managed to get the cable, but I can't find the way to get the firmware update. If any of you stil active here, could you please re-upload it to somewhere? (8.1 or 8.2 or 8.31).
Im on 7.x which version is simply too low to activate the USB via Mirascript

    Thank You in advance!

    Hi,
I still see a lot of people complaining about cd stuck inside player and it loops over and over again... I had this issue. Try taking out the device with tools for that (google car audio removal tool to see how it looks) and seek for two little white rubber buttons on bottom side. They're hidden in small rectangle hole on chassis. One of them is reset and other one forces reinstall / update function. Press both of them at the same time, hold one then press other. It might unblock your device and start install.

If it doesn't (for me it did not work), you have to take out the device, take top cover off. You'll spot CD motor. You have to power up that motor in reverse voltage so it "spits out" your CD. Just use any 12V DC and wire it up on it's ends.

When I did this twice, I never wanted to use CD for update anymore. Instead, I used USB stick. If you don't have one - use tutorials from this forum to add it. It'll spare you loads of time!

    Hi,
I had this idea over a year ago when my HDD got broken and I could not get other one with same specs (temperature and shock resistant HDD for cars, finding one from laptop is easy, but that's not the one).
Unfortunately, I tested like 10 combinations of SD cards and CF cards and failed. Exactly the same situation you got into. My conclusion: adapters used as converters from SD / CF to 44 pin PATA causes miscommunication between memory unit and motherboard itself. Some of the signals are missing. I saw some people "did it" *at least they say, (they never reply on PM or posts), but buying EXACTLY the same set of equipment just costed me money and time.

I recommend you to give up and stick with good old HDD. Replace it. Once you get new car you'll get new system with CF or SSD. Me too.
    Cheers!

    Hello,

Be careful with mirascript, you have to know what you do.
