Hi DarrenRay, I am assuming you refer to the bluetooth echo fix in post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in this thread?
Yesterday I applied that same fix.
I do not recognize the issues that you describe in your post.
If you indeed followed the instructions to the letter, I can not explain what went wrong.

    - My Car: Peugeot 508RXH 2011
    - My firmwares: Successfully upgraded last year from 2.75 to 2.86 (for the recipe, see post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ])
    - Symptoms on 2.75 and 2.86 were identical: Usually phone conversations start out ok, but when they last longer than 5 minutes, it frequently happens that callers start complaining about a sudden echo.
    - As for the bluetooth fix, I used the english version in post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
    - Like you, I followed the fix to the letter. This is imperative because deviating from the instructions will lead to disappointment.
    - In field 1.17.307 (where it says 1 or 255), I used 255
    - In field 1.25.465, I took the figures from the "RT6 avec HIFI (JBL and Denon)”
    - And to be 100% sure, after the update and reboot, I removed the userfiles from the USB, re-downloaded them from the RT6, and confirmed that they contained the modifications that I had made with datexplorer.

For sure, this fix has improved bluetooth behavior! So many thanks @mytheuzen.
However I am not sure that this has fúlly fixed my problem: I still get occasional remarks from a callers that - after about 10 minutes - they experience a sudden heavy echo …

Looking forward to see experiences from others on applying the fix in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for the bluetooth echo issue.

Hi, I have Citroen C3 Picasso with RNEG2.86.B.1 software. This version should be Polish, but it is not available. I want to reinstall this software from scratch. In the first post I see only the link to download the manual. I don't see the link to download the firmware.

Hi Adixxx, you could try the link in post [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in this threat. I did not check the actual file, but the link appears to be valid.

Try this when you get the message "Media Damaged or Incomplete"
The command must be performed in CMD on a pendrive

rmdir "system volume information" /s /q

    Default FAQ firmware update RT6 / eMyWay / Wipnav+

In order to help (new) users find quick answers to their firmware questions I have tried to consolidate the most relevant information from this thread in this “Frequently Asked Questions” post. If you find incorrect statements in my post (in fact, in case of any improvement proposals), please let me know. It will be my pleasure to update and improve this FAQ.

Q: The question that is asked the most: Can I upgrade my firmware?
A: That depends on your radio navigation system and its current firmware:
Let’s assume that you drive a Peugeot or Citroen. If not, then [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Now let’s also assume that your car is fitted with an RT6, eMyWay or WipNav+ (in fact these are just different names for the same system, manufactured by Magneti Marelli).
    • If not, just [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (the most important ones are marked as “sticky” and are listed on top).
    • If you don’t know, find out by visiting [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Finally let’s assume that you are on a software version lower than 2.86.B.1
    • If you already have 2.86.B.1 installed, then you are on the latest version and there is no need / possibility to upgrade. Instead, you can do a whole lot of other cool stuff with you RT6 (see last question in this FAQ).
    • If you don’t know your current software version, press the setup button of your RT6 and hold it for about five seconds. This brings up a hidden menu. Click “description”, “diagnose” and there it is.

    Q: Should I upgrade?
A: If you want to install the latest maps on your device, and if your current software version is lower than 2.10, the answer is clearly "yes": If you look on the website of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], you will find that you minimally need version 2.10 to install the newest maps.
If you already have version 2.10 or higher it all depends on your ambitions. Magneti Marelli must have had reasons to release new firmwares. Unfortunately I have not been able to find release notes that describe the changes they made. So whether or not to upgrade to 2.86 pretty much depends which statement appeals most to you:
    • “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
    • “if it is not on the latest version it is out of date”
Given that you have made it to this post, you probably favor the second statement. And if you have the courage to do the upgrade, you’ll find out many other things about your RT6 that you never thought of before. So let’s go and read the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Q: The opening post mentions that there may be risks. What are they and what can I do?
A: Yes, there are definitely risks. If you are faint of heart, do nót perform this upgrade yourself, but instead go to a dealer who can do the upgrade for you. However if you have an affinity for ICT and if your motto is “no risk no fun” you will enjoy the process and you’ll find out lots of stuff about your RT6. Just take your time. You may encounter unanticipated problems and you may have to do some research. Start with reading the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in full detail!

Q: One of the risks mentioned in the opening post is risk of “calibration”. What does that mean?
A: There have been many reports that after an upgrade, callers experience a heavy echo in telephone calls. The color-code table in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] shows the risk for your specific situation: Orange is high risk (up to “certainty”), green is low risk (without guarantee).
    • Both the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and some posts of very knowledgeable people suggest that you need to go to a dealer to have this fixed.
    • But then there is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] which was posted by one of the experts in this forum and which contains a plausible fix. There have been at least two reports in this thread that this fix was successful.
    So I repeat my advice:
    • If you are faint of heart, avoid the problem altogether, reconsider if you need the update and – if you do – go to a dealer to have him perform the update. That way you leave any potential problems with the dealer and you can hold him accountable.
    • If you are courageous: roll the dice and take your chances. Obviously you can still always visit the dealer afterwards …

Q: So where can I find the latest firmware file?
A: In the past, the files were in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], but I couldn’t find them anymore. Latest I could find was in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It contains a link to zippyshare and some users may not have access to that site in their country (you may be able to bypass that by using VPN – search the forum for more info).

Q: Can I upgrade in one step to the latest version or do I have to install all intermediate versions?
A: There are mixed signals in this thread: Some report you absolutely must go step-by-step, but some report that can directly go to the highest version without any problems. As far as I could find, those who report that “upgrading-in-one-step” could be a problem have insufficiently substantiated the issues they experienced. Therefore, if you are on or above version 2.21, personally I’d take the risk to go directly to 2.86 (if only because otherwise you’d have to search for all the files with the intermediate firmwares). I’d assume that the system will provide warnings if you need an intermediate upgrade. If you are currently on 2.07 or below, I'd recommend to first upgrade to version 2.21. That way you'll enable your system to install the most recent maps, while avoiding the bluetooth issue. Once that upgrade is succesfull you can determine for yourself whether you want to continue to 2.86 or leave it at 2.21.

Q: Should I use CD or should I use USB-stick for the upgrade?
A: Again, there are mixed opinions. There are those who insist on using a CD and there are those who claim that it’s better to use USB. Personally I prefer the USB method, provided that you take special measures to avoid error message “damaged or incomplete files”. If you follow instructions below to the letter, you’ll be fine.
    • Use a good quality USB drive (personally I used 16 GB)
    • Use Windows 10 computer to format
    • Format FAT32, clustersize 64k
    • Extract the files on the USB drive
    • Optional: In windows file explorer, enable "show hidden system files", which now shows the hidden "System Volume Information" folder on your USB drive
    • Delete that folder by opening a command prompt in admin mode and typing "del [drive letter]:\System Volume Information"
    • Take the USB from your computer and do not put it back in your computer (if you dó put it back, windows10 will recreate the system volume information folder)
    • Instead take the USB to your car
    • Disconnect any Bluetooth devices (phone) before the upgrade
    • Start the engine of your car and leave it running during the entire process – If you have a hybrid, put it in 4 x 4 mode – You do nót want the car to go into sleep mode as that may brick your RT6 system
    • Make sure that you RT6 system has fully booted
    • Check that your engine is running (do not say I did not warn you)
    • Put the drive in the USB slot in your car and start praying: In my case it took 45 breathtaking minutes for the upgrade to be successful
    • At the end of the update the system will automatically reboot
    • Now reconnect your phone and make a test call

Q: What if I have bricked the system in the proces?
A: If you do not switch of your engine during the upgrade process, you should be OK. Even if things go wrong, all hope is not lost. Options:
    • Reboot by pressing the CD-eject button for about 10 seconds
    • If that does not solve the problem: Disconnect the battery for an hour or so
    • If you have a hybrid, you can instead temporarily remove the right fuse to make your RT6 powerless
    • If that also fails you may have to bring in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Q: Are there any other cool things I can do with my RT6?
A: Yes this forum contains a wealth of information on how to upgrade your maps, update risk areas add new color theme(s), change boot logo, add additional screens, change the volume of your parking sensors and perform many other little manipulations with the socalled [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Those are posted in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (most of them are “sticky” threads so easy to follow. I can only encourage you to read, read, read.

    My car : Citroen DS5 (2011) eMyWay
    Firmware RNEG 2.20.E.5

No problems the first time with RNEG 2.20.E.5 on RNEG 2.86.B.1. Only the parking sensors are now quiet. Tomorrow I start MiraScript and adjust the volume

    EDIT

MiraScripts - volume of parking sensors (front / rear): value changed from 1 to 5 (standard sound)

    O-K

Hello from Portugal. I am new to this forum and in the need for some help.

I have a 2012 Citroen C4 with eMyWay on RNEG2.1.G.5, trying to update to 2.21 with the engine on, a Sandisk UltraFit 32 gb slow formated to FAT32 (64 Kbs clusters), the system recognizes the drive and give the following information for about 3 minutes "Verificação dos dados do Media em curso..." translating is something like "Verification of media Files " . After that it gets an error "Suporte de actualização danificado ou incompleto" translating "Update files are Damaged or incomplete".

    What am I doing wrong?

Hi, firstly you can try delete hidden folder from your SD Card "System Volume Information". If not help, format card by free tool "SDFormatter v4.0"[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] then copy content of firmware archive to SD Card (if hidden folder exist, delete it). Always working for me.
