The Img2ozf program converts Image files to the OZF4 image file format for use in PC OziExplorer, OziExplorerCE and OziExplorer for Android.
The use of Img2Ozf to convert images is essential when using OziExplorerCE and OziExplorer for Android as the OZF format is the only image format that these software products fully support.
When producing Maps for use in OziExplorerCE and OziExplorer for Android, please also read web page
Note : The Img2ozf program cannot create .map files necessary for using maps in PC OziExplorer, OziExplorerCE and OziExplorer for Android. Only PC OziExplorer can create .map files either by importing maps from other sources or calibrating images of maps. What is the OZF4 Image Format
The OZF4 format stores the image in tiles, each tile can be manipulated as a single unit.
Contains a separate image for each zoom level for 25% and below. These zoom levels are created using a bilinear filter and look good.
Zooms of 90, 80, 75, 70, 60, 50, and 40% are created by OziExplorer and OziExplorerCE using a bilinear filter giving good looking smooth zooms.
Fast Initial Loading
Small memory requirement when loaded
The loaded tiles can be cached in memory, this allows the OZF4 format to be efficiently used on slow Windows CE PDA's and Android Devices.
Slightly larger file sizes than some other formats because of the additional images stored for zooms 20% and below.
Img2ozf Version 3This version of img2ozf produces Ozf4 files for use with OziExplorerCE version 2.40 and later and OziExplorer version 3.95.5p and later and OziExplorer for Android version 1.20Img2ozf looks for OziExplorer .map files. It converts the image pointed to by the .map file and creates a new .map file for the converted image. You cannot convert images unless a .map file has been created by PC OziExplorer. This version also allows you to transfer the map files and images to your Device. Please note that the Ozfx3 files produced from normal map images will be used exactly the same as the Ozf2 files produced by the old img2ozf. Ozfx3 files produced from licensed image formats will have the same restrictions on saving and printing as the original images.[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
