I use Fugawi ,similar to ozie and I can import Garmin format .img maps under the Maps – import tab. I have Toponav Quebec imported into fugawi ,but it is very slow redraw of the screen. You have to check if ozie can do the same. These programs mainly work with raster maps and the only reason I use toponav in it is for accuracy of the 1:20k maps for placing waypoints and off road routes.

The problem with Toponav maps is they are very detailed therefore very slow to display. Toponav is a vector based map as opposed Ozie which uses calibrated raster(picture) maps. If you want free 1:50K maps for ozie, you can check the canadian gov agency GSC (Geological Survey Canada) and download their maps for free. GSC offers in addition to the maps the calibration details. It is just a matter of converting the GSC maps + calibration details within Ozie.

I have done it. It works.

CompeGPSLand can read the card Oziexplorer picture (PNG, JPEG) and the MAP files, but not the ozf2 and ozf3.
