Help needed on Navman EZY270LMT

An old friend has a Navman EZY270LMT gps device that has old HERE maps

Australia Core Mapping Driver Reviver 2012Q3

I have tried to connect this device to my pc to copy of the contents to make a backup before upgrading.

However, each time I try connecting the device to the pc it keeps disconnecting.

The device's battery fails to hold charge and needs to be replaced. Still trying to find out how to

The old bloke wants to get this device to work with updated maps.

I downloaded NavDesk7.50 to help with this task, it's an old device with no subscription.

Is there a cracked or unlocked version somewhere.

The other question is why does the navman device keep disconnecting from the pc? One has to keep removing the usb and reconnect usb on multiple occassions.

Any assistance is welcome.

It seems to me that the device is defective...

It does appear to be. If I owned it I would be trying to remove the back case to see what type of battery it has so I can replace it with a new battery.
