thnx alfasoundmk for the tutorial. Just a small addition: the procedure may also work with other older Samsung cards, that is, evo+ is not necessary

"You will need a Samsung EVO+ SD card and a Linux(Ubuntu) PC with integrated SD card reader, the ones on USB don't work.
1.Copy the map content on the SD.
2.Use the tool change_cid to change the CID of the SD

After you insert the SD check under /dev and look for mmcblkx (can be 0,1,2 etc)

In my case is mmcblk0, run the application from the current folder
for 32bit version use the command like this: sudo ./change_CID_32 /dev/mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400

for 64but version use the command like this: sudo ./change_cid /dev/mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400

    Desweiteren:

    1 - Card EVO + (I tried 32G and 64G SD)

2 - FAT32 formatted card (in Windows) and copy navpsf_update in rrot (corrected)

    3 - Install Ubuntu 32/64 (64's what I used)

4 - Copy local (Desktop linux) folder VW

5 - open the copied folder and right cick -> "open terminal"

6 - check with the command execution rights "ll". You must have attributes besides "r", "w" and a "x".
If there is an X writes: "chmod 777 mmc32" linux if you have 32 or "chmod 777 mmc64" if you have linux 64.
And the rights and check the "ll"

7 - Insert the SD slot. Terminal command "df" and verify the name card.
    Somewhere down everything must occur "mmcblk0" + p + a number.
The suffix p "number" is the partition on the card, we are not interested, just use "mmcblk0".

CID To read the original SD:
    cat / sys / block / mmcblk0 / device / cid
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

8 - Order To change CID terminal:

    - Linux 32
    sudo ./mmc32 prog_cid / dev / mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400

    - Linux 64
    sudo ./mmc64 prog_cid / dev / mmcblk0 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400

    After this command will display:
    Writing new CID: 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400
Success! Remove and Reinsert SD card to check new CID.

To read the SD CID changed:
SD disassemble and remove it from the linux PC SD reader, and then paste it into the PC
    cat / sys / block / mmcblk0 / device / cid
will be displaying the new CID 5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400
    "
I still get a "invalid sd card" message on my NAVI 900 (Opel)

    What I did:

    1) I have an original SD Card for my NAVI 900 (Europe 2013/2014). So I checked with this original card the command "cat /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/cid" and had the CID for this card.

    2) Then I inserted my new bought Samsung sd card (32gb) and changed the CID for this new card to exactly the CID from the original sd card with the tool from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Double checked everything, plugged out/in my new samsung card and did again "cat /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/cid" and it looks good, my new samsung card has exactly the CID from the original sd card.

    3) On my new samsung card I made a new folder named "cryptnav"

    4) In this cryptnav folder I copied all files from the the download mentioned from alfasoundmk ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ])

But as I said at the beginning when I insert this new samsung card to my NAVI 900 (Opel) I always get a "invalid sd card" error message

    Did I something wrong?

(alfasoundmk mentioned an "navpsf_update" folder and something with VW folder... this is for VW/Skoda cars, isn't it? I named the folder in sd card root "cryptnav" because my original navi sd card has also a crytnav folder.)

Update: Found the solution!!! Everything above was correct but I have to use the mentioned CID from the thread (5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400) and not the CID from my old original sd card. Now everything works!!!

Yes the procedure works but we need the link to download the 2017-2018 Europe Map and the CID associated with this map
The link above is 2016-2017 maps
Anyone with the link and CID?

Hi Jagg, if you want and if you can (I cannot now), could you test this procedure on another SD CARD?
WARNING: It is just an attempt, not a working procedure, so do it on ANOTHER SD CARD.

    1) Copy the map on the new SD CARD as the others
    2) Don't modify the CID
    3) Modify the file \cryptnav\data\data\misc\SDX_META.dat on the SD CARD this way

    <ID cid="5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400" vin="" />

    4) Insert the SD CARD on the car

The fact is that they compute Digital Signature using some files on the sd card and the CID of the original card. So, who knows, maybe writing the right CID there the CAR could use it instead of that of the card.

    it is just an attempt

    Thank you

Antoniss, the link and the CID for 2017-2018 map doesn't exist at the moment.
If someone , in the meanwhile, could test this procedure on 2016-2017 map I would be graceful

    2) Don't modify the CID

    <ID cid="5d53424c32424d31013917ca53010400" vin="" />

    4) Insert the SD CARD on the car

If this procedure work it would not be necessary to CHANGE THE CID of the SD CARD.

    Thanks
