[Android ] Ndrive 9.2.15rc3 GPS Navigation

Hi,

I tried with version specified in title (rc3). It works on tattoo... except... it doesn't utilize GPS. When I run application, GPS is connected but NDrive shows message "No GPS". Other applications are working fine. Any idea?
I also tried newer version - crashes.

P.S. Version 9.3.07 fails to start. It starts GPS search and then black screen and crash
P.P.S. 9.3.02 works but GPS not used yet. It is ON, started, connected, but doesn't work "Waiting for valid GPS signal"

I'm using 9.3.0.2. Try this: download program GPS Status from the market, run it and wait till it gets the Fix. Then, start NDrive. And, maybe this will sound ridiculous, but get out from the house under the open sky :), satellites need optic visibility.

Yes... you are right. It doesn't work without Fix. I was confused because Google Maps determine your position even if Fix is not available :)

I tried to install NDrive-9.3.02_HP_rc1.apk but i recived message "installation failed older sdk" , can anybody help me please?

I got it to install and it works except for some glitches. First, when it starts, it always goes into Market, and reports that there is no such software as Ndrive found in the market.I hit the back button and i'm back in Ndrive and it seems to go on fine from there. Second, if gps is not turned on prior to starting Ndrive, it crashes, reports an error and gives me Force Close. Third, even outside,with clear view of the sky, it takes around 20 minutes to get the fix. And sometimes it just doesn't get it at all.

Any solution to this issue? PM on Serbian would also be very welcome ;)

EDIT: Installed GPS status and it gets the fix in under 1 minute, then i start Ndrive and it's just fine. However, when starting ndrive, it still goes into Market to search for whatever, and i have to close the Market manually before i can go back to Ndrive. Is that normal? And yes, i did everything according to the relevant posts.

Looks like app has problems to get Fix.
starbuckbsg found one workaround: GPS Status untill you get Fix. After that launch NDrive.
I'm not sure why NDrive has problems with Fix

Yep, it does that, don't know why, probably because it knows there is newer version. Just hit the back button and use it normally.

Yep, that's why I said the GPS had to be on prior to starting the program.

Yep :), it happens, but I see you read what to do to solve this.

starbuckbsg, thanks for help! Works just fine even from within the room, just close to the window. Kind of a messy solution, htat we have to get the fix with pne application, and then start another, but i guess that's what i'll have to use until Igo pops up. As far as route calculation and all the rest, i am quite satisfied with Ndrive, it was just these glitches that were giving me a headache.

You're welcome :). Considering the fact it's free ;), I'm satisfied.

Install the version from the market;
Opened this version, to finish the installation of the remaining files (WiFi on);
Close Ndrive, and rename the folder /sdcard/ndrive to "Ndrivebackup". Uninstalled this version of NDrive. Then, renamed again the folder "Ndrivebackup" to ndrive (/sdcard/ndrive), put inside the desired maps and installed the version 9.2.15. Open this version and register _offline_ the maps. Dind't update at this time. Loading NDrive now should be completely functional.
Now open the market and it will update to the last version, with the maps activated.

Another way, would be, if you have root access, you can also install 9.2.15 version, register the maps, and then backup the file /data/data/com.ndrive.android/ndri3.ndr (this file contains the map activation number). Then you can install again the version from the market, restore the previous file (ndri3.ndr to the folder/data/data/com.ndrive.android) and start NDrive again.

I noticed one bug or maybe strange feature:

While driving, If you don't follow instruction given by NDrive (ex. you take shortcut, or avoid road block), NDrive exits. No option for auto rerouting in NDrive?

It is annoying to stop, start NDrive again, select route again - every time when you obey instruction.

Any idea about this?
