Default HELP, my VW maps+more has been stolen:-(

Hi. Can anyone help me, please. My Garmin maps+more has been stolen(the hole unit). I have bought an used one, but it will not connect to my radio. Can VW fix that by computer? And why, I thought it was plug&play, but maybe it is because of security, if the new unit has been stolen? Thanks for helping me:-)

My cloudy crystal ball tells me that you are probably trying to connect your replacement unit via BT to your car infotainment unit [maybe]. What unit model have you bought? Please say exactly what you're wanting to do and state the Garmin model number.

Its correct. When I place the "arm" in the dashboard and connect the GPS, it does not charge and no sound over the infotainment unit. The model is the Garmin UP maps+more. I think it a missing connection between the "arm" and the infotainment. The BT is ok.

This is from the manual: As soon as the device is mounted in a vehicle, it automatically receives
the vehicle's individual ID number. The device knows therefore whether
it is mounted in the "correct" vehicle. In this vehicle the password is
    requested only once.

Ok, clear now what your problem is. However, the Volkswagen Maps + More is not really a 'Garmin' except in name only. It's a Navigon unit [Garmin have bought Navigon], so i'll move this thread over to the Navigon section where you'll hopefully get more targeted help.

EDIT: Title changed from "HELP, my Garmin maps+more has been stolen" to "HELP, my VW maps+more has been stolen".
