Thanks for the maps. Works fine as described. All is left is to try out with the actual GPS signal outside.
One small problem. While exiting my device hangs. I have to restart HTC Sense tho.
Will restart and let you know.
Thanks all for the MAPs. Saved me a lot of money PLUS i can keep my device for a year or two more. :)
Update.
I followed the steps Exactly mentioned in the original thread.
I was able to see the map's Mark source and Destinations etc
Problems i faced
1. Whenever I clicked the <EXIT> the window would just hang there and I had to click the Back button to get my Home screen. But. I wont be able to execute the GPS program again. (The process would still be running in the Task manager and I was not able to kill it) Only Workaround. Restart the Phone.
2.No GPS signal. No workaround for this
What i Did to resolve the the above two issues,
1.Before transferring to the computer Select files / folders within the main folder, Right click > Properties UNCHECK Read only. UNCHECK Archive etc.
2. Edited the Orainale.ini given with the 8.0 file manually
My entries would look like this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Main]
MultimapDir=Maps
SafetyWrn=0
SaveTimeZone=1 ; for wince devices
Screen=WVGA
Map=\Storage Card\MMI2012\india_mi_201211.cpf
[Navigation]
NMEA=
[Advisor]
language=1033
gender=0
voice=
[GPS]
use_id_driver=1 ; for windows mobile devices
Found=com1:,57600,8N1,none
My device is working fine now. I am able to get GPS signal
I am able to do an offline trip planning and demonstrate.
Sorry if I sound really dumb! But does these files & patches will update my MapMyIndia GPS navigator (model # VX140s) or it is for cell phones or other specific devices only?
I am using this navigator for over 2 years now and recently thought of updating when my Mom wanted to visit a temple in a new city and I was not able to find it on my navigator's map. Please assist :)
Yes, you can update the vx140s too. Just backup existing files first as a precautionary measure.
Thank you for a great prompt reply buddy :) really appreciate it.
I am a layman in *****ing gps devices, never done it before. Can you please assist, do I have to copy all the files in my device and that is it? Or do I have to execute some files in the device to make it work efficiently?
Oops! Sorry for using that * word
All necessary files and instructions are already present in the first post. You'll need to put in the effort to read, understand and follow those directions, they cannot be simplified further. If you still find it too difficult, please get some IT savvy local friend to help you out in following those directions.
I went through the thread & understood almost everything except Win CE or Win Mobile device; in my case does it mean that I need to copy all in my mapmyindia device & execute the Navigator file?
Sorry to bother you with my really silly questions bro & thanks for still answering my queries :)
Thanks Manoj, I really appreciate your patience & kindness. Will be of any assistance if I can to ensure this site stays updated :) (might bother U again if the update doesnt work hahaha..)
I need your assistance once again bro; I did everything as suggested in first thread (copied all files in my gps device, but I am unable to run the MaymyIndia_Navigator.exe from the device or on my pc, it says that the file is not a valid Win32 application.
Sorry, forgot to mention that I downloaded WinBlackEdition as mentioned by you in the thread and tried to run it on my Windows 7 pc; the first page with Map My India logo came in and top right it said 'opening map' and then it stopped working. Tried changing compatibility mode to Windows 7 but still did not work. I have a Win CE device (VX140s) and there too same prob. I am doing something wrong but am not understand what precisely. Please help.
I was kinda late to post this…!
Before I was using v6.0 something in my Chevrolet Cruze LT and eventually the memory card got corrupted and thought only way is to purchase a new Copy!! I knew the maps would be available in internet! And you didn't make my belief false!
Now v8.0 works really great and well without any problems in my Chevrolet Cruze LT! Thanks!!!
Btw, looking forward to v8.1 ASAP from you guys! Hope you'll get it somewhere!
Fingers crossed?! :P :D
