I think you deleted this file img_rsrc.gir .
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
All posts and all pages, please note, you must not do anything that was written there, just read at what happened.
Nothing for there, is not compatible with your device.
Please do not use GarminCure3, no yet.
Your device must be disassembled, then make photo front and back side (high resolution if possible) from navigation module and post here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    or upload RAR archive here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Then I will communicate next steps.
Please do not take other steps stupid, if you do not know what are you doing.

Yes device must be disassembled for next steps to make contact with those wires to enter pre-boot mode .
If you have those wires to enter pre-boot mode no longer needed be disassembled for next steps.

Ok I prepared everything for you.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Inside of Cure DNX9X40_360.rar you have:
    1 Cure
    2 Install_RMPrepUSB_Full
    3 Original
    4 Copy back folder garmin

You can connect only the GPS module to PC USB port in Pre Boot mode, without the mount gps module back in the unit Kenwood
Use firmware Cure, then format the memory in FAT32 with RMPrepUSB.
After formatting copy back folder Garmin with everything it in he.
    After copy, use firmware Original
    And finally, reassemble everything back
    Good luck
