Default Kenwood dnx 7220 Pre-Boot and Firmware Flash

Hi, I have a media unit, which does not work Garmin gps and does not connect to the PC. I think it is the problem of hardware intervention.

present the images, I think it was updated incorrectly, it does not connect to the PC and neither sd card does not run it. I would like to tell me the procedure to apply.

This happens on DNX7220 models. You will have to disassemble it and reach Garmin GPS board inside. On the bottom of that board there is a small button. You will have to connect it to PC or notebook via rear mini USB connector. Keep that button depressed and power the DNX unit still keeping button depressed for about 10 seconds until you hear USB connect ding sound on PC. Depress button and wait for a few seconds to see if PC opens directory tree with Garmin files in it. When it does, simply turn off everything and put DNX unit back together. GPS will be reset after this procedure. If Garmin board fails to connect to PC then it needs replacement. When you open DNX unit, clean SDcard holder with contact spray. This usually happens when SD card is not working correctly because of the dust in the holder and DNX unit begins to mess with Garmin GPS unit's inner memory. Hope this will work! Good luck.

Sorry I can't send a PM, not enough posts.
Can other kenwoods be opened and connected to PC like this? My dnx995s seems to have firmware that blocks unlocked maps, but maybe if I am able to view the directory tree, it's worth trying to manually put in an unlocked image straight to the internal memory? I wasn't able to find any disassembly videos.

I disassembled the unit I found the garmin board which is separate as a module, but I can't find the button.

I have a DNX4330DAB have done an update to latest version software
Problem is Garmin does not work
Screen shows small test image not seen down each side of screen
Gleaned info that there is error with base map
How do I fix this does the above steps work for my model
Another question how do you get a copy of these files to repair the corrupt files
The garmin part has not worked since I put it in the car YES IS A SECOND HAND purchase was told all working now tring to FIX it
Like other post said no button till I get inside no idea what I find
Is it the fact that a PC goes beep and shows the tree structure is the fix seems strange

After reading some posts seems I need to get into this internal USB
So hoping doing the get to internal usb some how get it to talk to a pc check out the files
Wonder if it can be removed from unit and connected to a pc or does it need its own power from the stereo
