Now it's not possible to flash firmware in the mass storage mode. It's because firmwares patched by GarminCure3's CURE option don't read any files and enter the mass storage mode unconditionally. And that's why there is a WARNING section in the GarminCure3 topic.

The answer is the same. Patched firmware won't read any files from anywhere, including SD card.

Unfortunately I'm not sure. I didn't discover this trick with connecting pins, my friend discovered it. And maybe he didn't remember correctly the kenwood model for which this tricks works. So maybe this trick is for other kenwood model, I'm not sure.
But also he says that the trick works for all models ending on 60.

You can always unsolder the flash chip and flash it with the original firmware manually, but it's quite complicated.
This is the last way that I know.

This is the only way, if you wish to repair by your self, then do like kunix say, if this is to hard for you, then send unit to service.
Kunix always first tell the easy way to repair, if kunix write hard way then no other way is possible.

It won't help, as fw_all.bin is stored inside a completely different flash region. You can't change fw_all.bin in the mass storage mode. Therefore, you can't flash firmware this way.
